"What did you accomplish this summer?" 🤔 Let me share! 🚀 This summer, I, Ahmed Raza, had the privilege of joining the Summer Internship Program 2024 at National CERT-Pakistan. Specializing in Audit and Compliance, I dove deep into the world of DevSecOps 🛡️, where I worked on developing security policies and strategies to ensure security is embedded throughout the development process. From risk management to compliance, this experience has been a rewarding journey, boosting my confidence and expertise in the DevSecOps field. 🔒💻 #DevSecOps #AuditAndCompliance #RiskManagement #Governance #PolicyDevelopment #ProfessionalGrowth

𝑪𝒚𝒃𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝑴𝒂𝒚 2024 𝑪𝒐𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝑺𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒕 3 - 𝑮𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆, 𝑹𝒊𝒔𝒌 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 (𝑮𝑹𝑪) ✅ This past week, my team successfully completed the third sprint of Cyblack internship which focused on Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC). This sprint was aimed at developing essential skills in policy development, aligning policies with best practices. 𝑭𝒐𝒄𝒖𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒔: 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: we identified the need for information security and developed different policies that are important to our organization security needs. 𝐈𝐒𝐎/𝐈𝐄𝐂 27002:2022 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝: we ensured that all our policies were in alignment with this standard. This ensured that are policies were effective in addressing the security needs of our organization. We also designed a 𝒑𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒚 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒇𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌 for our organization. This is to ensure that all the activities that require monitoring are covered based on the defined timelines in the policies. 𝑳𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒕: • The importance of having security policies in an organization. • The importance of aligning policies with both organizational needs and regulatory requirements. • I learnt how to implement the ISO 27002 standard into policy development. • The value of continuous review and improvement to maintain policy relevance and effectiveness. 𝑴𝒚 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒃𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒔 𝑮𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒅: • I developed two key security policies for my organization, CyHeagle. • I had the opportunity to present the GRC report, enhancing my presentation and communication skills • Policy writing and development • Enhanced my ability in report writing and critical thinking Despite the challenges faced during this sprint as someone who had little knowledge about GRC, the experience was enriching equipping me with valuable skills and knowledge. This Sprint highlights the importance of integrating GRC practices into our cybersecurity activities. I will like to appreciate my team members for their contributions and support throughout this sprint. Thank you! A big thank you to the facilitator of this sprint Dr Iretioluwa Akerele for your approach and explanation. Thank you, CyBlack for this opportunity. Looking forward to the next sprint 💪

Hello connections !! I just completed a virtual internship as a Goldman Sachs governance analyst responsible for assessing IT security and suggesting improvements. It was a very challenging , exciting yet fun to do internship because of the mentors. As a freshman I have learned many new things from this virtual internship. 📌Some of the key points are as follows:- ->How to identify the type of hashing algorithm , and software used to identify hashing Algorithms. ->How to use the soft-ware Hash-Identifier. ->How to crack a hashed password after identifying the hashing algorithm type. ->how to use Hash-cat software. ->I learned different kind of attacks such as:- Brute-force attack , Combinator attack, Dictionary attack ,Fingerprint attack, Hybrid attack, Mask attack , Permutation attack ,Rule-based attack, Table-Lookup attack ,Toggle-Case attack ,PRINCE attack. ->I learned how to make a hashed password more hard to crack by a hacker. with the technics like Salting. ->I learned how to check the password strengths using online soft-wares like security.org 📌I did many things and some of the main things are:- ->Identified that the company was using an outdated password hashing algorithm by cracking passwords using Hashcat. ->Wrote a memo for my supervisor summarizing a range of proposed uplifts to increase the company’s level of password protection including extending minimum password length and using a dedicated hashing algorithm with salting.
