🎄 Each year, the Miami Herald and el Nuevo Herald grant wishes to hundreds of deserving individuals through the Herald Charities holiday Wish Book program. The Area Agency on Aging of Broward County is grateful to be contacted to help identify deserving community members. We were thrilled to submit Mary Adderley (pictured left) from our Empowered Partners Program for consideration this holiday season. Earlier this week, she visited our Sunrise office to receive her gift cards and a personal letter from AAABC CEO Charlotte Mather-Taylor. Our team is grateful for this partnership and the generosity of Herald readers who help make wishes come true.💫❤️ #HolidayGiving #WishBook #CommunitySupport #MakingADifference #AAABC

In celebration of International Volunteer Day, now is the perfect time to connect with local charities and explore ways you can assist during the busy holiday season or even in the coming year. As is article highlights, those without children often leave their estates to select individuals or charities. This creates the potential for their “intestate hiers”, meaning those that would inherit if they didn’t have a will, to bring a will contest and challenge the will. This can be easily avoided by using a revocable trust in place of a will. This is a good reminder to make sure clients that do not have children have a fully funded revocable trust.

If you’re one of the millions of people giving to charity this holiday season, your gifts may be tax deductible. To be eligible for a deduction of up to 60% of your adjusted gross income, you must itemize deductions. Also, charities that receive your donations must be tax-exempt. You can check the IRS’s site (https://bit.ly/3ViMOcb ) to confirm an organization’s exempt status and compliance with filing requirements. If you need more time to investigate charities before donating, be sure to complete all gifts by Dec. 31. Contact us for more information. #CharitableGiving #HolidayDonations #TaxDeductions #YearEndTaxTips #TaxPlanning #IRSApprovedCharities #GivingSeason #Philanthropy #TaxSavings #TaxTips

As financial advisors, we are advocates for charitable giving strategies that make a financial difference...but, there are also other ways to get involved! For Community Service Month, we recommend serving with a local charity (whether it's these ones, or your own picks!) #communityservice #charitablegiving #allentexas

Barraco and Associates has been a Pacesetter Company for the United Way of Lee County since 1998 and we continued that role this year. The United Way funds over 260 local programs. What is a Pacesetter Company? When United Way starts to fundraise for the new year, it relies on Pacesetters to kickstart the campaign before they open up to general giving. What are Keel and Sextant? Keel givers are individuals who have pledged at least $1000, while Sextant givers have pledged at least $500. Why Are We Pacesetters? That's easy. We love our community. It supports us and we support it. More than Money: Barraco and Associates staff have been on the board of directors or served on committees since 1998. It's important to us to make sure that donations are used effectively. United Way of Lee County gets 4 of 4 Stars from Charity Navigator. If you want to join us as a Pacesetter Company, call us and we'll help you get started. #BarracoAndAssociates #BAI #LeeCounty #SWFL #Engineers #CivilEngineers
