Looking forward to tomorrow's (April 2, 2024) meeting of the ABA Dispute Resolution Section International Committee at 3:00pm ET. The Zoom meeting will feature a discussion on International Dispute Resolution of ESG Disputes: From Commercial and Investor-State Arbitration to Non-Judicial Grievance Mechanisms led by Cherine Foty of Covington & Burling LLP. This presentation will discuss the historical and increasing prevalence of ESG in international commercial and investor-state arbitration, and the wide array of non-judicial grievance mechanisms which are being increasingly employed to resolve ESG issues. ESG encompasses issues of human rights, the environment and climate change, corporate social governance, and due diligence obligations, amongst other topics. Many thanks to committee co-chairs, Dana MacGrath, James (Jim) Reiman, and Steven K. Andersen.
