It took seasoned professionals to ensure better performance, reliability and safety of the network at the Krajská nemocnice T. Bati, a.s. A secure network, and preferably no outages that could compromise care. That's what every hospital and all its patients want. And it's with that goal in mind we have upgraded the network infrastructure at the Tomas Bata Regional Hospital in Zlin. As the number of patients and the complexity of medical procedures grew, so did the requirements for our computer infrastructure, but it was no longer able to meet them. Maintaining a disparate infrastructure from multiple vendors was also time inefficient. Therefore, we designed a solution based on HPE Aruba ESP platform that met the hospital's requirements. The key for us was to duplicate the previously acquired core network elements and put them into high availability mode. This ensured faster throughput, higher cybersecurity data, less time spent maintaining and operating the system, and better operational reliability. Even if part of the core fails, the network as a whole will continue to function, which is really important from the hospital's point of view. HPE Aruba Central's state-of-the-art tool now allows us to control all network devices easily and efficiently. This reduces the risk of human error saves time and, most importantly, saves money. The project has also extended the hospital's capabilities for further network segmentation. It created the prerequisites for implementing end-user access control. The cooperation with Aricoma was highly professional. Although the project was delayed a bit by Covid, with additional delivery times, everything turned out fine in the end without any operational complications.
