We love to see cities provide transport options that #supportwomen. In the shared e-scooter space, there’s real disparity. But it’s time to close the gap 🛴✨ Women make up a significantly smaller proportion of riders across Australasia, approximately 24% - 37%. Safety concerns are the primary reason for lower participation. Ario is recognisably more accessible for women. Our three-wheel, self-balancing design is independently tested by the experts at Beca to be safer, more comfortable and provide better stopping control. Trust Ario to design women-friendly rides ✊🙋♀️ and help create more accessible, connected cities. #smartmobility #smartcities #sustinablemobility #smartdevices #micromobility #escooters

How can new #transport #infrastructure contribute to creating a safer environment for women? Shining a light on #research into #women's safety and security on public transport in low-income countries in the wake of #internationalwomensday, we introduce an innovative new project from #Delhi, #India. The Urban Catalysts' objective is to leverage digital platforms to address #data and #service gaps and improve the travel experience and safety of women on the city's E-buses. Funded by HVT's Transport-Technology Research and Innovation for International Development (#TTRIID) programme, the project involves a campaign to increase awareness of a multimodal ticketing application, the One-Delhi app, amongst different groups of women on E-buses. The app will allow women to see exactly when buses will arrive and so reduce their waiting time. 𝘚𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘸𝘢𝘮 𝘠𝘢𝘵𝘳𝘢 – Empowering Women for Sustainable Urban Mobility 🚗 First and last-mile connectivity plays a pivotal role in sustainable urban mobility by reducing emissions and offering eco-friendly transportation solutions. Encouraging women to become e-auto drivers not only breaks #gender stereotypes but also unlocks new economic opportunities. To drive these efforts, we partnered with the Kochi Municipal Corporation and the Centre for Heritage, Environment and Development (C-HED). Together, we launched the ‘Women E-Auto Driver Training Programme’ which equips women with the necessary skills, knowledge, and driving license to become e-auto drivers. By addressing the #GenderGap in India’s transport sector, this initiative supports the broader goals of sustainable and eco-friendly urban mobility while prioritising women’s safety and improving last-mile connectivity in urban spaces. Further, by offering training and support in alignment with the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, the programme ensures compliance with safety standards, paving the way for a professional framework in this sector. This structured approach not only fosters economic opportunities for women but also builds their confidence to excel in an emerging, male-dominated field. 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: 🚗 80 women have been trained to become skilled e-auto drivers, improving their employment prospects. 📚 Comprehensive lessons on driving, traffic rules, vehicle maintenance, and customer interaction. 🚦 Driving licence support to ensure participants are equipped to operate e-autos confidently and safely. 👥 Gender sensitisation sessions promoting respect and inclusivity within the transportation sector. By empowering women to drive e-autos, this initiative not only contributes to cleaner urban environments but also promotes a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable transportation industry. This shift has the potential to create safer, more accessible mobility solutions for all. Our joint efforts are part of the Green Urban Mobility Partnership (#GUMP) between #India and #Germany. Together with our partners, we are committed to fostering gender equality and building a more inclusive and sustainable #UrbanMobility ecosystem. Well, it’s that time of year again – Happy International Women’s Day! 💚 I’m going to use my platform today to nerd out about one of my favourite things – sustainable and equitable urban planning. This will be done through the medium of an excellent book I read by one of the seminal authors of city and transport design revolution – who is both a brilliant activist and also, a woman! So, I read Jane Jacobs’ groundbreaking 1967 work "The Death and Life of Great American Cities" a couple of months into starting my career as an executive consultant in mobility and smart cities – and let me just say, it only made me double-down on my passion for this industry. One of the things I love about my job is that myself and my colleagues always try to work right on the cutting edge of technological disruption. As such, I am a true lover of progress and innovation. That said, this process of transformation should never be to the detriment of the vitality and diversity of urban neighbourhoods. Jacobs’ vision of “the sidewalk ballet”, or the key importance of pedestrian-friendly streets, transit-friendly roadways, and human-scale urban design really resonated with me. I work with companies across transportation and urban design, all with the goal of creating genuinely seamless and interoperable mobility across urban environments – whether this be through the design of innovative ticketing or payment solutions, V2X software for traffic or parking optimisation, electrification, increased micromobility options, ITS, or even autonomous shuttle design – the list is endless. Even in my work in the automotive industry sees automakers stretching our understanding of what a car can be. They can be sustainable. They can be shared. They can be autonomous. They can even be a connected living space. So reading Jacobs’ vision of the ideal city that has sustainability, health, and quality of life as it’s core central values seemed incredibly well-aligned with the visions of the brilliant thought-leaders I have the luxury of working on a day to day basis in my career. Essentially, Jane Jacobs challenges traditional urban planners to embrace complexity and diversity rather than imposing top-down, one-size-fits-all solutions. On a day like today when we remember our goal is equity over equality – the words of this revolutionary urban activist speak even louder. Happy International Women’s Day everyone – why not treat yourself to a good read today! 💚 🚎 #womenintransport #smartcities #mobility #internationalwomensday #investinwomen

The perfect insight based campaign by Schbang for NueGo. Getting into consumer's mind and knowing what exactly the consumer need is the right start for any campaign to work. #schbang #nuego #ad #insightful
Building Brands & Tech with Schbang, Mindfulness with Level SuperMind and Goodness with The Greater Good Foundation
Understanding our consumers isn't just part of the job—it's the heart of creating campaigns. People don’t just buy products or services, they buy the emotions that resonate with them. This insight was crucial for our latest campaign for NueGo. We didn't just see a bus service; we saw an opportunity to address a deeper concern. We went to the grassroots of the question ‘Why don’t women prefer bus travel?’, spoke to them and discovered that women are avoiding bus travel because they have to carry a lot of load with them (and it's not just the luggage). It's the apprehension of sitting next to a stranger, the scarcity of clean restrooms, and, most importantly, the pervasive concern for safety. With NueGo, we didn't just want to offer a solution; we wanted to transform the journey. We aimed to make bus travel not just a choice but a preference for safety and comfort, especially for women travellers.🛡️ Production - Rayu Films Scripting and Creative Direction - Schbang #CreatingASchbang #UnloadYourWorries #NueGo #WomenSafety #WomenTravel #WomenEmpowerment #IndependentWomen #SafeTravel #TravelConcerns

The transportation industry in general, but urban mobility in particular, is facing rapid transformation and evolution. These changes range from the positive impact that urban mobility decarbonization can have on the environment, to the role it plays in the infrastructure and connectivity designs of future cities. In order to accomplish the goals and tackle the challenges linked to this transformation, we must leverage on three main pillars: 1️⃣ Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs): Long term agreements between governments and private players to ensure funding, capital for infrastructure assets, and sharing of the associated risks. 2️⃣ Private Sector Companies Network: Creation of strong relationships between different key private players that foster the implementation of diverse projects. 3️⃣ Futuristic view of the economics: Focus the business case on feasible opportunities that will provide for improvement/change in the long term. Thank you to ICEX, Economic & Trade Office of Spain in Washington D. C., and Embassy of Spain in Washington, D.C. for organizing this session and bringing together such experts in the urban decarbonization field Alberto Alonso Poza, Gonzalo Fernández Sánchez, ivonne soler gutierrez, Iñigo Azcona Arriola, Jorge Muñoz Riesco. #SpainGoingGreen #TransformingTransportation #DecarbonizingUrbanMobility #SustainableCities #Spain #WashingtonDC #SustainableMobility
