⭐ New Project ⭐ The #ArcherWestern-Stantec design-build team has been selected to complete Phase 1 of a Class A Process Optimization for Wastewater Energy Recovery (POWER) project and wastewater treatment plant upgrades for the City of Chattanooga Moccasin Bend Environmental Campus. This progressive design-build project is expected to incorporate a thermal hydrolysis process (THP) facility, anaerobic digestion upgrades, and conversion of a high purity oxygen facility to a membrane aerated biofilm reactor (MABR). Upon completion, the project will be the largest MABR facility in the world! MABR is an energy-efficient, intensified nutrient-removal process that will allow the city to utilize its existing tanks rather than having to build new ones. https://lnkd.in/gCX3xPmT #DesignBuild #WastewaterTreatment

CHEERS project update: The world’s largest Chemical Looping Combustion unit successfully completed its pilot phase. A 6-year Sino-European joint research and development project on #CO2capture via chemical looping combustion (CLC), comes to its final stages as partners share the results from the pilot phase as of March 2024. The CHEERS fully constructed CLC demonstration unit brings the CO2 capture technology closer to commercialisation. A successful collaboration between Chinese and European partners saw rapid construction and further understanding of the CLC technology at the 3 MWth scale. The demonstration unit, started in June 2023, identified, assessed and overcame technical challenges to ensure continuous operation and a better expertise of the CLC process. Through the efforts of the operational team: Dongfang, IFPEN, TotalEnergies and Tsinghua University, autothermal Chemical Looping Combustion operation with Lignite and Petcoke feedstock was successfully performed for several days, with ilmenite natural ore as oxygen carrier. From this successful trial, the main results are a #carboncapture efficiency of 90-94% for lignite feedstock and 50-75% for petcoke feedstock.  📑🔗 All results can be found in the deliverable D6.4 available in the CHEERS website: https://lnkd.in/ex5b-sNW

✨ Alhamdulillah I have completed the assignment which was given by a PhD student from China the topic was simulation of [Improvement of Marine carbon capture onboard diesel fueled ships] through Aspen Plus 14.2 ✨ Process Description: ✓ The study compares solvent systems such as monoethanolamine/piperazine (MEA/PZ) and N-methyldiethanolamine/piperazine (MDEA/PZ), which show improvements in CO2 removal of 1.7% and 2.8%, respectively, over MEA alone. The MDEA/PZ process, combined with intercooling and multiple feeds, achieves CO2 removal rates of 90.6% and 90.5%. ✓ The final configuration, incorporating MDEA/PZ, intercooling, multiple feeds, and heat integration, removes 94.7% of CO2, amounting to 1348 kg/h, representing an 8.4% improvement over the base case. ✓ Additionally, energy savings of 100% for the stripper duty, 18.3% for the compressor, and 4.0% for CO2 liquefaction are realized. #Aspenplus #Simulation #Carboncapture #MarineEmissions
