An interesting read! "Brands are embracing ‘cleanical’, an approach centred on transparency." What are your thoughts on this concept of "Cleanical"? And when we will start talking more about how natural & clean ≠ sustainable? For me and Blue Beautylab, sustainable is the new clean. What new term should we coin?! #sustainical #cleanical https://lnkd.in/gpz46rts

There is a big gap between brands and consumers. Buying Cosmetics is confusing and it seems almost by design. The problem is any term or concept that gains popularity can become co-opted by profit maximizing companies. 1% and 0.001% retinol formulations both contain retinol. or more to the point what is a natural ingredient? There isn't standardization which makes it hard to compare products. For example experts can't even agree on how to calculate a product's carbon footprint. This ambiguity makes consumers confused and leaves room for bad actors. there are of course different accreditation systems like EWG or leaping bunny. But they all have their own standards, not to mention it's all too easy to make a new mark that kinda looks like an accreditation but is functionally meaningless. This is a problem dear to my heart and I would love to hear your thoughts on what we should be evaluating.

Explaining sustainability to an 8-year-old. His understanding gave me hope. He said he got it! Let’s move beyond buzzwords and actively integrate sustainability into our daily lives. #SustainabilityForAll #FutureGenerations #EcoAwareness #renivet
