SIMULATION: AVL, Microsoft, Hexagon AB, Synopsys Inc and tracetronic GmbH co-develop digital and automated toolchain AVL and its partners have launched the ADET Autonomous End-to-End-Testing initiative to develop "a consistent, digital, and automated #toolchain" with the goal of facilitating an increase by a factor of 500 in the number of #simulation runs within the same development timeframe. Bernhard Mueller-Bessler, head of virtual mobility at #Hexagon, said, “ADET is intended to provide a boost for #ADAS tests and in the future also AD tests. We can only be successful if everyone works together – in the right place, at the right time, and in the right constellation. That is why we decided to work as partners rather than individual players.” Tom De Schutter, VP of engineering systems design group at Synopsys, said, “The effort and cost required to validate ADAS and automated driving systems are significant. #Digitaltwins of the electronics for these applications address the need to efficiently run software and system tests at lower costs." Jens Poggenburg, executive VP at AVL, said, “This initiative offers AVL the opportunity to bring integrated tools for the development process of autonomous and software-oriented vehicles to the market and to make them available to customers in the form of Software as a Service.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eR-UTFrC #AutonomousVehicles #AV #SelfDriving #ADAS #AutonomousDriving #Automotive #AutomotiveIndustry #Transportation #Technology #FutureMobility #Sustainability #AVTExpoStuttgart #AVTExpoCA

VEHICLE DEVELOPMENT: AB Dynamics launches updated Track Applications Suite Automotive test solution provider #ABDynamics has released a significant update to its Track Applications Suite, a single software ecosystem for the testing and validation of advanced driver assistance systems (#ADAS). This update includes the addition of more than 400 new pre-defined active safety test scenarios to the system's library, supporting a wide range of industry-standard protocols such as #CNCAP and #UNECE. “Many of our customers, including #NCAP-affiliated laboratories, use our Track Applications Suite as a first level of verification,” said Joel Blyth, lead application engineer at AB Dynamics. “We also use the same software and resulting data to support submissions of our hardware products for #EuroNCAP approval. “To sell their vehicles globally, manufacturers must conduct and pass hundreds of active safety tests for various regulatory and #consumer bodies, for every single model they produce. This can be very time and cost-intensive, but our end-to-end test solution automates a lot of this work. The test scenario database alone saves #engineers substantial development time on every vehicle, just in generating new scenarios and developing validation strategies.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eAeak8hd #AutonomousVehicles #AV #SelfDriving #ADAS #AutonomousDriving #Automotive #AutomotiveIndustry #Transportation #Technology #FutureMobility #Sustainability #AVTExpoStuttgart #AVTExpoCA

This past weekend, I updated the self-driving software in my Tesla. Reflecting on the evolution of Tesla's self-driving technology, I noticed its parallels with the Infinite Flow methodology adopted by business units. Both the realms of automotive technology and agile business practices champion autonomy and swift, independent decision-making as essential to their progress. They emphasize self-reliance, reinforced by solid feedback mechanisms such as DEMO (Design & Engineering Methodology for Organizations) and Normalized Systems. This ensures that both autonomous vehicles and agile teams can quickly adapt and iterate in response to real-world conditions, driving advancements in their respective fields.

🚗 There is a new solution to maximize efficiency in autonomous driving simulation: IAV #Vega. This is a platform for simulation resources and task management for ADAS testing. With a high-performance database system and front-end/back-end systems, it generates, stores, generalizes, simulates, and analyzes results for scenarios involved in development. It supports the testing and release requirements of autonomous driving functions at multiple levels from L1 to L4. 🔍 Key Features: 1️⃣ Scenario Library: A collection of various driving situations and environmental conditions. 2️⃣ Software-in-the-Loop (#SiL): Allows developers to test control algorithms and software in a simulated environment. 3️⃣ Automated Software Evaluation: Enables automatic safety evaluation (e.g. #SOTIF) of autonomous driving systems under different scenarios. 4️⃣ Simulation Software Integration: Provides a virtual environment similar to the real world for the operation of autonomous driving software. We can also deploy the platform in your private cloud and configure the related cloud resources according to your needs to accelerate the speed of parallel simulation. If you have any questions, please contact Kangkang Zhou. #AutonomousDriving #Simulation

Talking about SEADO's challenges from the past 2,5 years.... I've been working with SEADO since 2022, but the value and know how since 2016, where I started working on a thesis for legal framework of autonomous cars..In other words, we are totally prepared to release autonomous cars with our systems engineering processes I worked on regulations of UN-ECE, ISO 26262, ISO 21448 already from 2016 with the focus on bringing autonomous driving to the roads... I worked with Continental as Systems Arcthitect and Safety Manager in order to understand how technology is released and a lot about perception. Worked then in the field of L3 to understand how safety concepts are written in order to comply with ISO 26262 and ISO 21448. Worked at OEM Level in order to understand how different OEMs need to deal with development of safety concepts and legal requirements and their implementation with also different development partners and a lot about the whole stack requirements. Especially for L3 and L4. Worked at TÜV in order to understand release processes and requirements compliance. Worked since 2022 on SEADOs own SE plattform with Safety Methodologies and Systems Engineering Methodologies which are feature based and scalable from L2 to L4 Requirements. Actually worked out a whole process and methodology to derive System Requirements, System Architecture and System Safety Concepts for L2 to L4 based on Stakeholder Requirements, complying with A-SPICE, ISO 26262 and ISO 21448. Together with partners. Validated this with several customers and helped to achieve their systems engineering compliance and safety engineering compliance in a short amount of time. Built up a network consisting of companies like Waymo, Pony.ai, Volkswagen, Continental, Gatik, TÜV SÜD, NVIDIA, etc. Challenges: -Every company uses own words and terminologies -Every company wants their own specific solutions -Every company wants to build their systems and safety engineering internally, but has lack of know-how and ressources. -Application effort of SEADOs processes to customer specific processes takes 3-4 months -Engineers suffer from "Not-invented by me Syndrome" Talking about the current development, where many, many companies are seeking for requirements engineers and safety experts for autonomous driving in order to engineer safe systems, because it is the GAP for a structured autonomous driving development. What do you think SEADO is capable of doing and what is the best way in order to help customers to solve the existing problems of Risk Management and Structured Development? Open for Discussion!
