When was the last time you created something special with your grandkids? 🎨 In South Central Pennsylvania, where community and family are paramount, holiday crafts can forge deeper connections between generations. Crafting is a wonderful way for grandparents and grandkids to share joy, learn from each other, and create lasting memories. Here are some simple and fun crafts to try: 🖌️ Handprint Art: Turning tiny hands into turkey art or holiday wreaths is both easy and fun. These crafts become keepsakes that grandparents can cherish. 🌟 Homemade Tree Ornaments: Gather pine cones and decorate them together. Add glitter, ribbons, or paint to make unique ornaments for the holiday tree. 📜 Family Time Capsule: Capture the moment and plan to open it together years later. Fill a small box with drawings, notes, or small toys. Seal it with a promise of a future date to reopen. These activities do more than just fill an afternoon—they strengthen bonds and bring laughter and creativity into the mix. Have you tried any crafts with your grandchildren? Share your favorite memories in the comments!

• Ouch • Last month, behind the gorgeous work we done for our clients I did the following: 1. Tore a hole on my favourite top securing wire to a clients floral arch 2. Accidently gave myself 10+ cuts creating sustainable structures with chicken wire and screwing water trays onto wood 3. Got lost delivering flowers, it turned out I'd drove past the place twice and then got a parking ticket when I parked to deliver them 4. Jammed my hair in the car door when unloading water buckets from the boot 5. Sent 6 emails to clients forgetting to add attachments (later emailing with the attachments - rookie error) I have to laugh because there is often a story behind the lovely photos we share of our work 😂 10 seconds after the photo above was taken I snapped a nail! #behindthescenes #smallbusiness #liverpoolbusiness #highsandlows #businessowner #reality

I’m delighted to share this essay I wrote for The Post, about mom the florist, and the profound joy of flowers. 💐 https://wapo.st/3WBGzBJ

Here’s trumpet vine, another beauty to be admired, but not intentionally planted unless you live in the Southeastern US, where it’s native. In some parts of the Northeast, it’s considered invasive. Vines are the interlopers of the plant world; since they don’t have to expend energy on developing supporting stems, they can devote all their resources to rapid growth. And grow they do, with vigor! The trumpet vines’ runners are so thick and strong that they can strangle trees. The above notwithstanding, I do find trumpet vines beautiful floral subjects because of their textures and rich color. They’re also challenging to photograph, given the length and geometry of their petals and the complexity of the vine’s “calyx” (a whorl of five sepals, the crown-shaped structures that contain and protect the emerging petals). This post is a focus stack of 40 images that concentrate on a single pistil that was exposed after the surrounding petals dropped. What layers of beauty lie within this beast!

This is an interesting read with a couple great takeaways. 1) Don't let your past determine what you can do. This guy never designed a thing in his life, yet has one of the most iconic symbols in the country to his credit. B) Keep it simple. These signs aren't some crazy ornate things. But they send the message. III) Pay attention to detail. A 600 page manual about how these signs should be put together and maintained?!? OK... seems a little excessive. But it seems to work. https://lnkd.in/gRvZKPTn
