🚗 No more company car for me! After three decades of steering through the slow and the fast lane, today marks a significant shift as I decided not to take another company car and gave back my last one. 🌟 I've had the privilege of being accompanied by a succession of company cars since 1994 that were more than mere means of transportation—they were silent companions through countless meetings, endless phone calls in traffic jams, great trips with the family throughout Europe, and much more. 🔙 And yes, I am emotional and nostalgic about it, as all these cars were important to me at their time. From the humble yet sprightly Renault Twingo – two-seated to get a fiscal advantage in Paris - , which kicked off our journey in 1994, to the state-of-the-art electric Porsche Taycan that I bid farewell to today, each car has been a testament to the era it represented. They've witnessed the changing landscapes of both roads and business, adapting to the pace of innovation and the shifts towards sustainability. 🤔 One thing I noted, which makes me sad, is that the size, the weight, and thus the consumption did increase over time. Which is basically the contrary of technological progress. Any preference in the (funny) list? #CareerJourney #EndOfAnEra #Sustainability #AutomotiveInnovation

Alfa Romeo's electric Giulia and Stelvio are coming soon https://lnkd.in/dqpn_uk6 The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio has always been a powerful car, like a supercar but with four doors. It's loved for its sharp handling and strong engine with 503 horsepower. Now, Alfa Romeo is making a new version of the car, but this time it will be electric. Some people were worried about this change, but the CEO, Jean-Philippe Imparato, talked about it in an interview with Autocar. The new Giulia will have different models with electric motors. The base model will have 345 horsepower, while a faster version called Veloce will have more power, up to 790 horsepower. The most powerful version, called Quadrifolio, will have around 1000 horsepower, almost double the current one. The Quadrifolio will probably have an all-wheel drive and use technology similar to the new Maserati Granturismo Folgore. This means it will have three electric motors and be able to control the power to each wheel. The new car is expected to have a range of about 435 miles on a single charge, similar to the current gas-powered car.Imparato also talked about why Alfa Romeo is making this change to electric. He said it's necessary for the company's...

There’s something that ties together all four of the cars below that are currently listed for sale on AutoHunter or ClassicCars. Can you tell us what they have in common? While you’re at it, tell us the make and model of each one. Let’s skip the model year since these cars didn’t follow the usual model year changes you’d find on an American car. Fair? Write your responses in the comments section below. https://lnkd.in/gwj_ZW9D

The Impact of Italy’s Motor Valley on the Automotive Industry From historical to economic impact, Italy’s Motor Valley continues to shape how we think about the automotive industry. In a world where mass production and quantity over quality have become the norm, the luxury car brands here fight not to outproduce their rivals but to outshine them—with bigger, better, faster, and more powerful cars always the next goal in the production line. https://lnkd.in/eeUhAHUk

Do Indian luxury car buyers want more 'length' for their buck? At the launch of the new BMW India 5-Series, which is now for the first time a long-wheelbase model. In fact, the only right-hand drive long-wheelbase 5-series sold anywhere in the world I spoke with BMW Group Jean-Philippe Parain to understand why this has become the case. Has this been a learning from the Chinese market, where all luxury sedans are sold as long-wheelbase models? Indeed, in India, all three of BMW's core sedan models - the 3, the 5, and the 7 are sold as long-wheelbase models and only special performance variants like the M340i are available with the standard wheelbase. Watch my comprehensive interview at ThePrint YouTube. #automotive #BMW #longwheelbase #IndianConsumer #ChineseConsumer #5Series https://lnkd.in/g45KaC7q
