The queue of projects waiting to connect to the grid is getting bigger and bigger. 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 900𝐆𝐖 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐭 𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞’𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐬, equivalent to 118% of the capacity needed to be built by 2030. 🇪🇺 𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 and 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 are top barriers to delivering Europe’s 2030 targets, as highlighted in recent analysis by Aurora Energy Research 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲: 💰Investment of over 1.5 trillion euros will be required by 2040 to integrate into, and upgrade, ageing grids. 💡In 2023, grid deficiencies led to the curtailment of nearly 30TWh, costing close to 9 billion euros across six European countries; total EU numbers if readily available, would be much higher. 🌍 & this is a problem we are seeing all over the world. While it's great that developers are so eager to build new renewable energy projects, that's not much use unless the projects can connect to the grid. If emissions reduction targets are to be met, the connection process needs to be streamlined. Let us know your thoughts 💭 in the comments below. ✍ #renewableenergy #gridconnection #grids #europe #sustainability #energy #energytransition

Thanks Reuters Events Sustainable Business for having MN8 CEO Jon Yoder on as a panelist to discuss the supply and demand of the renewable energy market. If you weren't able to attend the panel live, here are 3 key takeaways: ⚡ Electricity demand is growing - the climate challenge facing us is understanding where demand is coming in and meeting it with clean energy as much as possible. ☀️ Renewable energy isn't just for large corporates - there are avenues for organizations of every scale to source clean energy. Whether that be onsite solar or utility green tariff programs or signing larger-scale power purchase agreements with producers. 📈 To meet global climate goals, we need to electrify as much as possible. To do that, experts estimate we need to deploy 85 GW of clean energy a year, keep building and growing the scale of mature clean energy technologies, and continue to advance new technologies.
Overcoming supply shortages and unlocking access to renewable energy was our great penultimate panel here at #SustainabilityUSA with fantastic insights from Jonah Wagner at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Marcene Mitchell at WWF, Jon Yoder at MN8 Energy, Vrushali Gaud at Google and Aidan Charron at EARTHDAY.ORG. #renewableenergy #netzero #energyefficiency

I'm excited to share my latest project where I applied advanced time series forecasting models (SARIMA) to predict Australia’s electricity production from renewable sources, including solar, wind, and hydro. By analyzing historical data, I forecasted a significant increase in renewable energy output between 2024 and 2026—a compound annual growth rate of 13.5%! 📈 These insights are not just data points; they have real implications for policymakers, energy companies, and tech innovators. Accurate forecasting is critical for optimizing energy distribution, scheduling infrastructure upgrades, and guiding sustainable policy decisions. As we strive towards a sustainable energy future, this data can help shape smarter investments and strategies for the energy sector. 🌍 Let’s continue driving innovation in renewable energy, combining data-driven insights with cutting-edge technology to make Australia a global leader in sustainability. #RenewableEnergy #DataScience #TimeSeriesForecasting #Sustainability #EnergyPolicy #CleanTech #SARIMA #FutureOfEnergy

🔋 "Battery Storage Transforms Our Energy Future" 🌍 In an era where sustainable energy is more crucial than ever, battery storage stands out as a game-changer. By efficiently storing energy from renewable sources like wind and solar, we can ensure a reliable supply even when the sun doesn't shine or the wind doesn't blow. Battery storage not only enhances the stability of our energy grids, but it also reduces our reliance on fossil fuels. This technology is pivotal in cutting greenhouse gas emissions and combating climate change. A recent study by the UK Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy highlighted that integrating battery storage could reduce carbon emissions by up to 30% by 2030. If you work in this space and are looking for a move, our clients are looking for a BDM so do get in touch. helen@upprofessionals.co.uk #BatteryStorage #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability

It has been reported that Europe is on target to meet its 2030 goal to consume 20 million tonnes of renewable hydrogen and 100GW of installed electrolyser capacity. It was further noted that 7.2 million tonnes of H2 was consumed in the EU in 2023, 99.7% of which was produced from fossil fuels. Renewable hydrogen is currently three to four times more expensive to produce than grey #H2, disincentivising offtakers from signing off on long-term contracts without government intervention, ACER adds. Just imagine if there was a source of renewable energy that delivers 24/7 that removes the pricing barrier for H2 production allowing #hydrogen to be the affordable fuel of the future it can be. #Fair #Society #Green #Enviromental #Water #Land #SDGs #Renewable #Energy
