Today, on the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, we pause to honor the lives lost to gender-based violence and stand in solidarity with survivors. This day reminds us of the tragedy at École Polytechnique in 1989, when 14 women were murdered because they were women. It’s a stark reminder of the urgent need to end violence and discrimination in all its forms. Let’s commit to fostering a safer, more inclusive society. Each action, no matter how small, contributes to change. Speak up. Support survivors. Advocate for equality. Together, we can break the cycle of violence. 💜 Remember. Reflect. Act. 💜 #December6 #EndViolence #GenderEquality #RememberAndAct

As we conclude the 16 Days of Activism, we remember that the fight against gender-based violence is not a 16-day commitment, but a 365-day obligation. We honor the survivors, the thrivers, and those who have lost their lives to violence. We acknowledge the resilience of women, girls, and marginalized communities who face oppression daily. We recognize that the struggle for equality and justice is not a solo act, but a collective responsibility. As we move forward, let us continue to amplify the voices of the marginalized, to challenge systems of oppression, and to create a world where everyone can live without fear of violence. Together, we can create a brighter future. Together, we will. #NoExcuse #16DaysOfActivism2024 #16Days #SayNoToGBV #UniteToEndGBV #EndGBV #OrangeToTheWorld

💡“People within a community are the ones who can either passively allow violence to occur in their communities or fight against it. 🌱 They are the ones who we should educate and support. Youth empowerment, in particular, can be a very effective community-based strategy.” 🧡 On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, hear from youth activist Elsa B. on the power of community-based strategies to end violence against women and youth 👉 https://bit.ly/4eGDq97 👈 #16DaysOfActivism #ViolenceIsPreventable #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #EndGBV #16DaysOfActivismAgainstGBV

Today, December 6, we pause to reflect, remember, and renew our commitment to end violence against women. This day marks the anniversary of the tragic 1989 École Polytechnique massacre, where 14 women lost their lives simply because they were women. Violence against women remains a pressing global issue, touching countless lives and communities. From physical and emotional abuse to systemic inequalities, the fight for safety, equity, and justice is far from over. This is not just a women's issue—it's a human rights issue. We all have a role to play in creating a world where women and girls can live without fear. Here are ways we can take action today and every day: 💜 Educate ourselves and others about gender-based violence. 💜 Speak out against sexism and harmful behaviours, no matter how small they seem. 💜 Support survivors by believing their stories and providing compassionate resources. 💜 Advocate for systemic change to dismantle the structures that perpetuate inequality and violence. Together, we can honour the memory of those we've lost by working towards a future where violence against women is no longer a reality. Let’s not just REMEMBER — LET'S ACT. #ViolenceAgainstWomen #December6 #NationalDayOfRemembrance #GenderEquality #EndViolence #Action #Women #StandTogether #EvolvingYouthCare
