Great inspiration for engaging learners in creative exploration at school! Shadow art provides a dynamic way to explore the concept of metaphors—bridging tangible experiences with abstract thinking. “The underlying requirement for being able to create a metaphor is to recognize similarity, and to conceive of one object or event as if it were another…. The perception of similarity is present at birth and is necessary for the most basic of learnings.” (A Festive Thought, p. 207) By inviting learners to play with light, shadow, and form, we open opportunities for them to perceive connections, express unique interpretations, and deepen their cognitive and artistic growth.
