A leader is only as good as the team they work with. Teams that struggle to perform usually default to the lowest common denominator. One non-performant individual can kill velocity and prevent teams from successfully delivering. However, this is different from low performers. Low performers are transformed by empowered leadership when they see and understand the target and recognize how they help move the work forward. Once low performers have confidence in how they contribute, they very quickly become top performers. Great leaders know how to leverage their team and know how to get the right people in the right seats on the bus.
