As we celebrate Children’s Day today, I’m reminded of something that often gets lost as we grow older—our inner child. Children are naturally curious, spontaneous, and fearless in expressing themselves. They aren’t afraid to dream big and think outside the box, and it’s these very qualities that often lead to the most innovative ideas and creations. I believe that the spirit of playfulness, transparency, and innocence can inspire the most unique and forward-thinking spaces. The best designs don’t just come from experience or logic—they come from a willingness to embrace creativity without limitations, just as a child does. So, let’s all take a moment today to reconnect with that inner child. Because sometimes, it’s the childlike qualities in us that push us to build spaces that are truly set apart and reflect the inventions of tomorrow. Happy Children's Day!

When I look at the photo, I see an overwhelmed, resentful woman who was just beginning to remember who she was. This was at a family gathering. I'm sure my people-pleasing tendencies were on full display. A month before this photo was taken, we moved across the country from Denver to coastal Maine. We lived in Denver for 15+ years, and the move required an unbelievable amount of emotional and physical labor. We were exhausted and disconnected. I was already aware of the inequities in my partnership. I tried hard to find a solution by myself and hit a brick wall when it came to sharing the mental load. That's where the Fair Play Method came in. It gave us a common language and a system for sharing the mental load. It felt like an exhale. In the past several years, I have also spent a lot of time learning about systems of oppression and how white supremacy culture promotes qualities like conformity, perfectionism, binary thinking, individualism, toxic positivity, and defensiveness. I could see all of those traits inside my relationship and my thoughts. Once I could see it, we could begin to change it. In addition to sharing tasks more equitably, we have been able to examine if we are doing something: ✨ because we saw our parents do it that way, ✨ because it is validated by society, or ✨ because we value it. Most days, I think I now look lighter and more grounded. (So does my partner.) Can you think of an expectation that you have of yourself that you can kick to the curb because it no longer aligns with your values? Let it goooooo. It feels so good. --- Hi, I'm Sandi. I started this business because I want to help women free themselves from supermom standards, unlearn outdated gender norms, create equity at home, and design a life from the inside out – without adding to the overwhelm. I also support mom + partner by providing: ✨ Fair Play for Busy Parents Workshops (online and in S. Maine) ✨ Customized Fair Play support for parents Website in comments.

Daily Empathy Post # 3145 (December 11) "Building a truly inclusive world begins with children. By teaching empathy early, we plant the seeds of understanding and acceptance that will bloom in the communities of tomorrow. When children interact with persons with disabilities—whether through shared activities, storytelling, or classroom discussions—they learn to see them not as “others” but as equals with unique abilities and aspirations. Consider the profound impact of simple actions: creating spaces where children of all abilities play together, celebrating the achievements of individuals with disabilities in history and culture, or inviting leaders with disabilities to share their journeys. These experiences teach children that diversity enriches rather than divides.

Today, January 4th, marks World Braille Day, a day to honor Louis Braille and the powerful writing system he created, which has given millions of visually impaired individuals the ability to read, write, and achieve independence. On this day, I am glad to share the inspiring story of Ar’Miah Gilchrist , a motivational speaker, content creator, and social media star. Born with optic nerve hypoplasia and legally blind, Ar’Miah uses Braille to navigate her world with strength and grace. Watching her read her Bible using Braille is a reminder of how this system empowers individuals to connect, learn, and excel. Let us also acknowledge the incredible contributions of visually impaired individuals who are breaking barriers in various fields, be it technology, education, business, or the arts. Their resilience and determination to excel, despite challenges, is quite inspiring. As we reflect on the importance of accessibility, let us continue to create inclusive environments where everyone can thrive, regardless of their ability. #WorldBrailleDay #Inclusion #Accessibility #DisabilityEmpowerment

Openness and inclusivity don’t develop overnight. The seeds are planted now when our kids are young and building internal circuitry for how they think about themselves and others. The way we talk to our kids informs whether they practice curiosity before judgment and whether they talk to people with the goal of understanding instead of being “right.” So, let’s talk to our kids about what matters in love, family, and relationships. Let’s help our kids develop pride in who they are, what they feel, and how they interact with the world. ****The words in this post are, of course, just a starting point. https://lnkd.in/gX5qvCXH

The school bell rings. It's time to celebrate!! It's sometimes difficult to see the forest through the trees. When we implement contingencies for the people we serve, our staff, or anyone else over whom we wield significant power and with whom we spend a lot of time, we aren't just working toward objectives, we're impacting what those people love, what they hate, and whether they gravitate toward or away from us or those things in the future. Clients achieving meaningful outcomes is central to what we do, but it's important to evaluate whether they're looking forward to sessions starting or ending, as that will inevitably impact how long they want to continue on that path, and what they tell others about it. Staff implementing quality services and helping clients achieve meaningful outcomes is similarly important, but their enjoyment of the process can directly influence how long they stick around to do more, and the larger impact on your company and the community it serves. Being able to see the bigger picture requires we care about - i.e. regularly evaluate and act upon - both outcomes and experience. These are not interchangeable, and both have their time and place. So when the kids celebrate at the sound of the bell, we need to ask ourselves - is it the bell at the beginning or the end of the day?

🤔 Who shook the jar? If you put 100 black ants in a jar, nothing will happen. If you put 100 red ants in the jar, nothing will happen. They will live in harmony. But if you shake the jar, they will start attacking each other. They will start killing each other. 🤔 So next time, think about who shook the jar in your life. ⛔ Do not look to attack other people. Do not look for the differences, for the way they look, for their appearance. 👀 Look for who programmed you to believe that our differences is what is going to make us to be violent, to be aggressive toward each other, to start hitting each other, to start killing each other and go to war with each other. Think about who shook the jar? Children don’t hate anyone. They are not racist, or prejudiced, or judgmental, and they don't hate so don’t teach them to be. Children possess an incredible capacity for love, acceptance, and understanding. They see the world with unfiltered eyes, unaffected by the prejudices and biases that often seep into our society. As adults, it is our responsibility to foster these positive qualities in children, ensuring that they grow up to be individuals who value diversity and embrace others for who they are. In this article, we will explore the importance of teaching children to be accepting, and how to foster an inclusive mindset in the next generation. Children are born without prejudice. They don't hate anyone, they don't discriminate, and they don't judge others based on their race, religion, or background. As parents, caregivers, and educators, it is our role to preserve and nurture this inherent open-mindedness. Encouraging children to maintain their curiosity and openness allows them to embrace differences rather than fear or reject them. Children learn by observing the behaviours and attitudes of the adults around them. It is crucial for adults to model acceptance and inclusivity in their own actions. Displaying empathy, respect, and fairness towards people from all walks of life will help children understand the importance of treating everyone with kindness and dignity. 🛑 News and media will try to divide us but we need to stay united in one love. ❤️ Embracing One Love: The Power of Unity, Solidarity, and the One Human Race! #eldinhasa #branding #innovation #love Ambreen Nadeem Preston Weekes Save Lives Project

With the school year right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to have a quick chat with your child. Just a few minutes can go a long way in shaping their attitude towards others. Let them know that everyone’s unique, and that’s what makes the world so interesting. There’s no reason to make fun of someone because of how they look, where they come from, or what they love to do. Remind them that whether it’s wearing the same pair of shoes every day or carrying a well-loved backpack, it’s what’s inside that counts. Encourage your child to be the kind of person who welcomes others, no matter their differences. Let them know that school is about learning, growing, and supporting each other—not about who has the coolest gear or the most friends. And don’t forget to teach them the power of kindness. Not everyone has a warm, loving home to return to, so a little empathy can make all the difference. It starts with us. By nurturing these values at home, we can help our children build a brighter, more inclusive future.
