Today is American Diabetes Alert Day. Let's take the day to raise awareness about the importance of diabetes management and prevention. Did you know that diabetes can significantly increase the risk of developing wounds and pressure injuries? As we observe this day, it's crucial to understand the connection between diabetes and wound care. High blood sugar levels can lead to nerve damage and poor circulation, making individuals with diabetes more prone to foot ulcers and other wounds. These wounds, if left untreated, can escalate into serious complications, including infections and even amputations. “We take pride in what we do, and together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by pressure injuries and help prevent unnecessary suffering.” – Gentell President & CEO, David Navazio Let’s spread awareness, support one another, and take action to promote better wound care practices within our communities. #DiabetesAlertDay #WoundCareAwareness #PreventPressureInjuries
