Think small to win big in today’s marketing game. Nowadays brands are increasingly choosing "small" over "big" when it comes to influencers. The truth is, sometimes less really is more. A friend of mine recently launched her new skincare line. Instead of chasing high-profile influencers with millions of followers, she chose to partner with micro-influencers. People who had around 10-20k followers. At first, I was sceptical. Would these smaller accounts really make an impact? Fast forward a few months and the results were impressive. The micro-influencer's posts led to: genuine conversations, real product reviews, and most importantly customer loyalty. Unlike big-name influencers, these micro-creators had deep connections with their followers, leading to higher engagement and conversion rates. In today’s world, trust and authenticity are very essential to stay relevant in the market. Influencer Marketing 101 – if people don’t know of you, they won’t be interested in buying from you But which influencers should you work with? Macro? micro? Or a mix of both? Each tier has its advantage and is activated at the right moment If you are selecting influencers for an awareness campaign: 1. Focus on investigating the viewership rate then compare it to others with similar sizes of followers 2. Macro influencers can create visibility with low effort, but they are a risk if you are activating only a few of them. 3. Working with micro-influencers on an always-on basis will lead to slower but more sustainable word-of-mouth build-up. it’s not the quickest route to generate awareness but they are relatable and authentic.
