A key move towards teams with more autonomy is deciding who decides. Here is a super practical and useful video by The Ready introducing the idea of 'decision rights' and how to empower people by being clear and specific about what decision rights certain roles have (i.e. who can decide what without needing approval from elsewhere). There are some really good tips about what decision rights are and are not, how to do them well, common mistakes and some key principles. I like this part at the end: "Decision rights should be co-created with the team members and partners involved in the work, not drafted in isolation or rolled out without discussion. Self-management requires more explicit policy. Policy provides clarity. Clarity leads to power. The power that lies with the role of a manager in a traditional organization needs to be distributed to everyone else. Policy is the distribution channel.

Just a few genuine questions... Jyoti Dadlani 1. Whenever there's a 'he-said', 'she-said'... Who do you actually believe? 2. Can women retroactively regret any sexual act and withdraw consent in future, although in the moment, the consent was present? If yes, how can any sexual act occur without the men's fear of future regrets in women? 3. Yes, consent is awesome! But isn't a big part of the "sexual chase" literally walking on the thin ropes between 'no consent' and 'granted consent'? #50ShadesOfGrey 4. If every initiative men take needs to first be subject to absolute consent that cannot be revoked... Aren't we basically asking everyone to just videotape every sexual engagement and the passionate involvement of both parties in the video be the ONLY CONFIRMATORY PROOF OF CONSENT? Post "#MeToo" several organizations to have secretly shifted to "male only" and "female only" work cultures to avoid any interaction between the sexes! The more hurdles we as society will impose on men to act hyper-cautiously, more and more men will quit this chase all together and go their own way (MGTOW) with porn and alternate sexual means of gratification... Sex-Robots are also coming soon to drastically change everything! We are already seeing a rising trend of single women in the west complaining "Where are all the good men?" and "Why don't men approach us anymore?" We need to make sense of this and not just blindly raise the "WOMEN'S CONSENT IS EVERYTHING" placard all over the place... #JustSaying
