Next up in our #BrenntagPioneers series we spotlight Carlos Graullera Marco, who has been over 30 years with us, shaping our sales and commercial activities in the Iberian market. Carlos joined Brenntag via the acquisition of a small family-owned business. Finding himself as part of the global market leader in chemicals and ingredients distribution, he mastered his way through various sales roles to being Commercial Director Brenntag Essentials in Iberia today. Teamwork and exchange are the main ingredients in his recipe for success. “Be curious, ask questions, learn from best practices and from failures and work with dedication – then success will come your way”, Carlos shares. That is why he commits a huge part of his time to meeting colleagues and business partners, visiting our sites and engages in industry organizations. Out of Brenntag’s five Core Values, “Clarity” has been most important throughout his career: “Transparent communication and clarity build trust with both colleagues and customers which is the basis for success. Clarity on the objectives and explaining why they are important and what is needed to achieve them, significantly increase the efficiency and performance of the team and the individual team members.” This mindset in combination with his long professional experience is very valuable because, together with his team, Carlos is contributing to Brenntag's transformation in Iberia which is a pilot and lighthouse region. Our 150th anniversary is a good motivation for him: “It's incredible that a company can stay on the market for 150 years, which means that a lot of good decisions have been made and the right things have been done. I had the privilege of spending an enriching day at Synthite Industries Pvt. Ltd, the world's largest producer of value-added spices, as a jury member for the 3rd edition of Quality Fest Programme 'SynTech 2024’ on 10 December 2024. This prestigious quality competition brought together participants from inter-plants of the Synthite Group from India and abroad, vying for the top honors. The event showcased exceptional innovations and presentations, demonstrating effective usage of TQM tools like Lean Six-Sigma, Benchmarking, OEE, VSM, Cost of Quality, and more. The event was inaugurated by Group Chairman, Dr Viju Jacob. The innovations and improvements were not limited to production but covered all aspects of business including Finance, Marketing, R & D, Techical, Quality, HSE, Sustainability and as well. What struck me was the pride and passion of the participants, who presented their projects with confidence and conviction. The top management's commitment to quality excellence was evident in their active participation throughout the event. Full time presence by Mr Aju Jacob, MD the main motive force behind the event and other group directors- Mr Paulo George and Mr Jacob Ninan to hear and encourage the participants added elegance & importance to the event.  Apart from the regular Best Practices Competitions and Kaizens, a notable improvement in this edition of SynTech was the introduction of ‘Sustenance Project Competitions’ to evaluate and recognize the efforts of plants in sustaining the benefits of implemented projects presented in past SynTech events. Another improvement was to recognize the plants for effective implementation of cross learnings from other plants as ‘Horizontal Deployment Projects”. These have significantly enhanced the objective & purpose of the program. I'm impressed by the Synthite Group's dedication to fostering a culture of excellence across divisions. Their focus on teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement will undoubtedly drive their success. Sustaining Global leadership requires highly motivated, engaged and passionate employees and this distinquishing factor could be visibly seen across all plants of Synthite!
