“Birds of a feather will flock together.” -An ancient Proverb What does that really mean though? It’s symbolism for those with similar interests, ideas, and thoughts will congregate together. Like attracts like. As a leader, pay attention to the clues around you when dealing with people. I’ve learned throughout the years that often people will tell me one thing but their actions speak a different language. Fake attracts other individuals who are fake. Compassionate individuals attract others who are compassionate. And the list goes on… “Do not be deceived: "Bad company ruins good morals." -The Holy Bible, Corinthians My advice today: Pay attention to the company you keep. It defines who you are, whether you like it or not. Your character is impacted by those you associate with. It’s your choice who your friends are so choose wisely. They will impact your future and your purpose. “Connect with people who are soaring. You need to disconnect from people who are limiting your potential, and connect with people who can help you reach levels you have never seen. Stay connected to people who are going places, who are on another level, and who make you strive to be better.” -Germany Kent “Be careful of keeping company with people who are always bragging on your accomplishments in public but rarely if ever compliment you or support your endeavors in private.” -Germany Kent #beintentional #leadwell #leadershipmatters #leadershipdevelopment #leadership #leader #lead #courage #grace #influence

"The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is, and the future less resolved than it will be."- Marcel Pagnol "I used to ask God to help me. Then I asked if I might help him."- Hudson Taylor Your actions will speak according to who you allow to lead your life. It is indicated by the company you keep, what you post on social media, the news you watch, the books you read, and the church you attend. Yes, we were created for relationships. Our relationships define who we are. Today, I encourage you to evaluate the relationships you have formed and ask yourself these three questions: #1 Do they distract me from my purpose or are they conducive for my purpose? #2 Do I see people through the eyes of grace or judgment? #3 Am I better or bitter? Everyone else knows the answer to these questions. They see the answer through your actions. The most important thing is for YOU to know the answer and it requires self-reflection and honesty. Let’s be better. Let’s do better. Let’s evaluate our relationships to align with grace, mercy, goodness, forgiveness, and love. We all have a choice. #beintentional #bebetter #servantleadership #leadershipmatters #leadershipdevelopment #lead #leader #graceleadership #grace #graceunderpressure

Since I was very young, I always felt this uneasiness, this restlessness, and I would wonder, why are leaders doing things the way they're doing? Why is it that people are so selfish? They want to go there and do things. It's all about themselves. Even when I was employed, because I was employed for a long time, even in employment, my bosses, I would wonder, why? Why do you have to be horrible? Why do you have to be mean? Why do you have to be so, you know, self-driven? You're just doing things for yourself and to gain. So as I grew up, I always felt this thing inside of me telling me, there's more to life than this. There's more to life than this. A true leader who does things through justice, righteousness, and for the glory of Jesus, people will not like you. Because they'll ask, you think you're better than us? You think you're doing this? And then there's no self-gain. So people don't understand you're doing this selflessly? You don't want to gain anything from it. You don't want people to praise you. No. It's about justice and righteousness all to the glory and honor of our King! #njerimuchunu #leadershipdevelopment #leader #trueleadership #leadershipskills #society

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” -God, Isaiah 55:8-9, The Holy Bible This week I have been reminded multiple times that His ways are ultimate. I like to plan, budget, and execute. I have vision. But, I must remember to never forget His ways and His thoughts are far superior to my ways and thoughts. He knows the end from the beginning. He understands and sees the path ahead. Leaders, today I encourage you to never forget who is truly in control of your life. Lean in to His way and not your own. When I feel anxious and stressed about something, I know I’m not leaning into His way. Seek wisdom. Seek understanding. Lean in to the One who truly wants the best for you but it requires you release control. As a leader, the surrender to God’s plan for you is the hardest. It’s easy to say but harder to exercise. It’s why there is so much instruction in the Holy Bible on this. Ok, my inspirational message was a bit “preachy” today but I needed to write this out and speak life to myself. His will for my will. Let’s be better, everyday. #graceleadership #grace #leader #leadershipmatters #leader #speaklife #spaceforgrace #leadershipdevelopment

PRIDE often precedes a DOWNFALL. Proverbs 16:18 reminds us that "pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." In leadership, at work, and at home, pride can subtly creep into our interactions: "Why aren’t they listening to me?" "Why didn’t they show up for me?" "Why am I not being heard?" These ego-driven questions can create BARRIERS instead of BRIDGES. We want to be heard, yet we often fail to listen, serve, + truly show up for others. Ask yourself: Where is pride causing cracks in your foundation? Where do you find yourself easily offended or triggered? Those moments reveal where your ego is most invested and where humility needs to take root. Instead of rushing to fix things or pushing for instant results, try slowing down. Step back, observe, and reassess. What might you be missing in your hurry to get things done? Today, I challenge you to lead with humility and patience rather than pride and pressure. The results might surprise you 🔥 If you're an Impact-Driven leader seeking to cultivate humility and lead with greater purpose, send me a DM to explore how my faith-based executive coaching can transform EVERY arena of your life. #dropthearmor #faithbasedcoach #executivecoaching

“Forgiveness is above all a personal choice, a decision of the heart to go against natural instinct to pay back evil with evil.” - Pope John Paul II It’s easy to follow the path where if someone mistreats you, you seek retribution. Don’t. When they go low, you go high. “Vengeance is mine, says the Lord.” -Holy Bible When you do the right thing for everyone, goodness will always prevail even if in the moment it may not seem like it. Keep doing good. Keep advocating for that which helps the whole, and not just a select few. My advice for all leaders: #1 Be careful of the voices you follow. #2 Always do what is right even if it is not always popular. #3 Never lower your bar, regardless if it means standing alone. #4 Pursue what is good. Pursue what is right. Pursue purpose and not money. #5 Pray for wisdom. There is a difference between the “short game” and the “long game”. It usually involves patience. “Effective leadership is not about making speeches or being liked; leadership is defined by results not attributes." -Peter Drucker #leadership #leadwell #wisdom #grace #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipskills #LeadershipMatters #leadershipcoaching #lead #LeadershipJourney #leaders #leadbyexample

Earlier today I heard a definition of Authenticity that I had not used before: "Authenticity is what you experience from another person when their words are true and you know they believe what they are saying" When you experience authenticity it evokes trust. That's how I feel about Jim Sanft, CEO at Concordia Plans Services. I met Jim back in March at a conference dinner in Dallas and had the privilege of sitting at his table. Over the course of dinner I was able to see him interact with friends and employees, and I remember thinking- "What a humble and genuine CEO." "He treats everyone in this room like they are more important than he is." I just picked up his book "Leading by Faith, Practical Insights for Christian Leaders" And I read through the introduction and first 3 chapters this morning. There's something about feeling like you know and trust the author of a book you're reading. There's something to Authenticity. These first few chapters reiterate biblical truths about leadership that remind me about Stewardship, Faithfulness to the Lord, executing with excellence, and understanding Influential Authority. It's also an engaging read with stories that I identify with. I recommend you check out the book- https://lnkd.in/gpzix7F9 #christianbusiness #servantleader

Faith Wednesday: 📜 **Wisdom from Sun Tzu: Leadership and Integrity** 📜 "An evil man will burn his own nation to the ground to rule over the ashes." - Sun Tzu This powerful quote reminds us of the destructive nature of unethical leadership. True leaders build and uplift, while those driven by selfish ambitions can bring about ruin. In our professional lives, let's strive to lead with integrity and a genuine commitment to the well-being of our teams and communities. A scripture that aligns with the sentiment of Sun Tzu's quote can be found in the Bible, Proverbs 29:2: "When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan." (Proverbs 29:2, ESV) This verse highlights the impact of leadership on a nation or community, emphasizing that righteous leadership brings joy and prosperity, while wicked leadership causes suffering and distress. #Leadership #Integrity #SunTzu #EthicalLeadership #BusinessWisdom

I think often about leadership. I think about the leader that I've been in business, in my family, and in my church. I think about the leaders in authority over me. Today I have been thinking about the biblical requirements of leadership that we have for the Church. This morning I ran across something I had not considered as I studied 1 Timothy 3 I saw the words: "An overseer (primary leader/ pastor) must be... Temperate and Prudent" In a world where we are constantly drawn towards the dramatic and sensational leader. Where you gain followers by being harsh and demeaning and filming it, I'm intrigued that the Bible tells leaders instead to be self controlled and sober minded. In thinking about this more I realize that if you want a church full of people to live lives that are filled with the fruit of the spirit fruits like: Love and Joy and Peace and Patience. Or how about a church filled with people known for their Kindness and Goodness, their Faithfulness to the Lord and to their spouses. People marked by Gentleness and Self-control. Then you have to choose leaders who are Temperate and Prudent. As I seek to be the leader I was created to be, I'm evaluating how I react to my circumstances. I'm evaluating how I respond after I react to ensure I'm qualified according to this standard to lead. In fact, I don't just to be qualified, I want to influence others to be people filled with the fruit of the spirit! I'm praying for leaders in my life that model the same convictions with temperance and prudence. Join me. #servantleader #christianusiness #temperance #prudence #1Timothy3

This is for those of us who are task-oriented, Type A, or drivers by nature. “There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.” — Proverbs 12:18 (ESV) As a task-oriented person, I tend to focus heavily on getting things done. But as a leader, I must remember that tasks are accomplished through people. So, even though I’m driven by tasks, I have to slow down and focus on the people around me. I know my words can sometimes be sharp, but I don’t want to cut down the people I lead. I want my words to bring healing and strengthen my team, so they’re fully prepared for the task at hand. That’s why I have to SLOW DOWN and use wisdom before I speak—to ensure my words heal rather than harm. 🗡 We can’t keep using our personalities as excuses for hurtful behavior. Enough is enough. Leaders, it’s time to step up and be better. As a believer in business we have to remember that God’s Word applies to our personal lives as well as professional lives. God can move through you in the work you do. Don’t leave God out. Do it God’s way and build a business that will impact this world for the good. #ProverbsDaily #WordsOfWisdom #Leadership #TypeAPersonality #BelieversInBusiness #GodsBusiness s
