How many Sistine Chapels are there in Italy? One or more than one? 🫤 Of course, the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City, adorned with Michelangelo's breathtaking frescoes, is the most famous. Its mighty figures and stunning artistry leave everyone speechless. However, Italy is home to at least three other extraordinary works of art often compared to the Sistine Chapel for their profusely—and beautifully—decorated walls and ceilings. For example, San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore in Milan is sometimes called the Milan’s Sistine Chapel. Its interiors, entirely frescoed by renowned Lombard painters like Bernardo Luini and Paolo Lomazzo, offer a mesmerizing display of color and detail, making it a must-see for art enthusiasts. What are the other two Sistine Chapels? 😉 #MilanArtScene #HiddenItaly #ItalianArt #VisitItaly #ItalyTravel #DiscoverItaly #ItalianDestinations #ExploreItaly Pic by Luca Nebuloni, CC BY 2.0 via Wikimedia Commons

P-saico is a project developed Marialaura Rossiello Irvine based on the material and modularity concept of Sticks. It consists of 10×30 mm stick fragments – 6 mm thick – mounted on fiber glass mesh in irregular patterns to create 315×320 mm modules. The way the modules are composed and the grouting generate a contemporary version of Venetian Seminato. P-saico is a semi-artisanal product, with unique aesthetic connotations: differences in surface flatness and tone variations are intrinsic characteristics of the product and, if enhanced during installation, they enhance the exceptional aesthetics of this collection. https://lnkd.in/dJD-vuug

The relationship between high art and noteworthy buildings is as old as civilization itself: think of the celebrated sculptures that once adorned the exterior of the Parthenon in Athens, or Michelangelo’s magnificent ceiling frescoes for the Sistine Chapel in Rome. And when it comes to residential properties, nothing enhances an extraordinary home like a carefully crafted art collection. As with real estate, the fine art market experiences ups and downs. Education is key to understanding the market, and there are now more resources than ever before to judge its value. But regardless of its investment potential, great art has an uncanny ability to elevate a home—and add immeasurable pleasure to the lives of its occupants. • • • #artcollector #homedecor #artcollector #sothebysrealty #luxuryliving #karelbutz Source: Sotheby’s Mid-Year Luxury Outlook Report 2024

Did you know that Dolomite White Marble has more than 600 years of history? 😱 Many of the columns of Ancient Greece and Eastern Rome, as well as the famous historical theatre and some of the buildings, are made of #Dolomite. One of the reasons is because this marble is able to absorb moisture from the air and has antibacterial properties, as well as being a very #durablestone. 👉🏼 Nowadays, its light #grayish and #brown veining brings #luxury and #luminosity to different spaces, from rooms, stairs, corridors, etc. They are very carefully processed, as they are very fine-grained natural #stones that stand out for their #whiteness and homogeneous shape, which gives them a unique #naturalness that cannot be achieved with any other artificial derivative ✨
