What makes an experience memorable? Memories are not made by having your expectations met... It's about the extras. It's someone who goes above and beyond to exceed your expectations, to make you feel cared about, that turns an experience into a memory. It's those moments you rave about. When we realise the difference between service and hospitality, and that great service does not automatically lead to being hospitable, we are able to intentionally choose how to shape a guest's experience. Where service is the skills and methods, hospitality is the spirit and human connection. Service without hospitality is merely a transaction, and hospitality is not taught, it's caught.
