The political participation of women is crucial for the advancement of democracy and the promotion of gender equality. Over the years, strides have been made globally to increase women's involvement in politics, but significant disparities still exist. During the Panel discussion on Women in Political Leadership, Tara Krishnaswamy, Founder of Political Shakti, emphasizes the pivotal role of women in political spaces. She underscores the importance of addressing systemic issues, such as the absence of caste reservation for women, which hinder their full participation in governance. Krishnaswamy's insights shed light on the ongoing disparities that women face in accessing and exercising political power. Intriguing question The Lawyer in their podcast: Is the tide turning in favour of women in leadership in law firms? “Law firms have long had a problem with gender equality. Partners and senior leaders are weighted heavily towards men, with an average of 2.35 male partner to every female partner in the UK Top 100 firms. However, that number has actually improved in the last five years – down from 2.83 – while the number of female senior and managing partners is also growing.” What does everyone think? #womeninlaw #womenleaders

Have you noticed that male politicians are addressed by last names, while female politicians are often called by first names? This is not a coincidence but a practice rooted in patriarchy that undermines women's experience and authority. Increasing numbers of women in power expose gender equality and equity challenges. We want to take election season as an opportunity to address gender in politics. Today, we discuss why LANGUAGE IN POLITICS MATTER! Be aware and challenge societal norms of bias in political language. Together, we can create a fairer political landscape. #EqualVoices #GenderInPolitics #GenderEquality #PoliticalBias #FairLanguage #TheFundForWomenandGirls
