US-Mexico Trade Hits Record High of $415.4 Billion in First Half of 2024: According to the latest Census Bureau data, US-Mexico trade reached an all-time high of $415.4 billion from January through June. For June alone, the trade between the two countries amounted to $69.93 billion, a 2.1% increase year-over-year. Mexico has been the No. 1 U.S. trade partner for six consecutive months, with Canada and China following at $64.3 billion and $45.4 billion, respectively. Key exports from Mexico to the U.S. in June included computers ($4.4B), passenger vehicles ($4.1B), and commercial vehicles ($3.3B). Top imports from the U.S. were gasoline and other fuels ($2.93B), auto parts ($1.7B), and computer chips ($1.1M). Laredo, Texas, remains the top U.S. trade gateway, handling $27.8 billion in two-way trade in June. With 249,915 commercial truck crossings, Laredo has maintained its position as the leading international commercial trade port for 15 consecutive months.
