Education for Heritage Month: Understanding the PPRA and its Role in Shaping Success in the Commercial Property Sector The Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority (PPRA) was established to ensure that South Africa's real estate sector operates with professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to ethical practices. Originally formed as the Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB), the PPRA now serves as the governing body for all property practitioners, including estate agents and commercial property professionals. Its key mandate is to oversee qualifications, certifications, and ongoing professional development to ensure that property practitioners meet industry standards and can provide expert service to clients. Qualifications and Certification: NQF Level 4 and NQF Level 5 qualifications are mandatory for estate agents, while commercial property professionals often pursue degrees in Real Estate, Property Management, or Business Administration, alongside certifications like CCIM or CPM. Specialized Training: Areas such as retail management, lease administration, facility management, and property law require specialized training, facilitated by collaborations between the PPRA, educational institutions, and industry bodies like SAPOA and SACSC. Continuing Professional Development (CPD): CPD is essential for enhancing professional knowledge, covering market trends, property law changes, financial management, and technology advancements in property management. Professionals equipped with these qualifications and CPD often make more informed decisions when negotiating leases, managing tenant relations, and overseeing property portfolios. Industry Standards and Practices: The PPRA's educational framework ensures expertise in commercial leases, tenant relations, property valuation, and investment analysis, which are vital for maintaining industry standards. By regulating education and professional development, the PPRA ensures that the Commercial Property Sector in South Africa is in safe hands, equipped with the expertise to manage and grow properties effectively. How familiar are you with the PPRA’s role in shaping the property industry? #PPRA #CommercialProperty #EducationMatters #Mentorship #HeritageMonth

🔍 Why the Common Assessment Standard (CAS) is Essential for Public Sector Work in the UK 🔍 The UK public sector is driven by high standards in quality, safety, and transparency—and the Common Assessment Standard (CAS) has become a key requirement for businesses aiming to secure contracts in sectors like construction, infrastructure, and services. So, Why is CAS Essential? CAS provides a single, standardized pre-qualification that meets the needs of the public sector and helps streamline compliance across projects. By becoming CAS-certified, businesses show they meet critical benchmarks in areas such as: Health & Safety Compliance – Robust safety practices are non-negotiable in public contracts. Financial Stability – Proof of financial security assures public clients of reliable partnerships. Environmental & Social Responsibility – Sustainability and ethical practices are priorities for UK government projects. Quality & Ethical Standards – A CAS certification demonstrates your commitment to quality, governance, and business ethics. The Benefits of CAS Certification With CAS, your business eliminates the need for multiple assessments, saving time and resources while improving credibility and accessibility to public sector contracts. It’s not just a requirement—it’s a competitive advantage that helps you stand out as a reliable, trusted partner. Getting CAS-certified is a clear way to showcase your company’s dedication to excellence, compliance, and social responsibility. If you’re looking to make an impact in the public sector, CAS is your first step! ☎07391308798 📧 rob@rams-app.com #PublicSector #UKConstruction #CAS #Compliance #Sustainability #CommonAssessmentStandard #Procurement

This update about the ending of CSCS grandfather rights is indeed significant for the construction industry. It emphasises the importance of formal qualifications in a sector where experience has traditionally been a key factor for many professionals. *For Candidates:* This change presents an opportunity for those affected to consider upskilling. Whether through formal qualifications, certifications, or training programs, enhancing your qualifications could strengthen your position in the job market. It’s also a chance to reflect on how your experience can be complemented with recognised credentials. *For Clients:* The shift may lead to a revaluation of hiring criteria. While some may still value experience highly, others might feel more comfortable hiring managers with formal qualifications, especially in light of the new regulations. This could influence team dynamics and project management strategies, as well as the overall qualifications of site managers. Engaging in discussions around this topic can help everyone prepare for the upcoming changes. It would be beneficial to hear perspectives from both candidates and clients on how they plan to adapt to this transition. What are your thoughts? Are you considering any specific actions in response to these changes? ARV Solutions #construction #offsiteconstruction #offsite #cscs #projectdelivery https://lnkd.in/d9V_v28t
