You are one of a few experts invited to answer. Trust is the most important ingredient in the Boldness of Effective Leadership. Trust is a cornerstone of diplomacy and international cooperation.
1) What is the root cause of the world's TOP 100 High Risks, including the complex shared challenges, such as disinformation, in 2024? Without trust, is it difficult to build strong relationships, foster collaboration, and achieve shared goals?
2) Does AI have the potential to streamline the inefficient HIRING process and prevent FRAUD to help organizations save tens of millions, hundreds of billions, and even trillions of dollars?
3) What is Global Leadership? Does the UN General Assembly remain an indispensable tool and a vital pathway towards a peaceful and just future for all people?
4) What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)? How do we classify the different types of leadership styles in the digital age of change and disruptive era of emerging technologies?
5) What is Boldness in Effective Leadership? How to rebuild trust and faith in one another, and in what we can accomplish through collaboration and solidarity?
These efforts will enhance project quality, reduce costs, and improve development outcomes, solidifying ADB's position as a leader in regional development. It also helps to understand the direction of development investments in the Miderm.
Did you know that effective climate action can propel progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)? Conversely, sustainable development enhances our resilience to climate risks. These two frameworks aren't just linked; they are interdependent!
Understanding the interconnectedness of the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Agenda is crucial as we approach the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement in 2025.
To help you navigate these interdependencies, we invite you to join our 6-week online facilitated course, “The Paris Agreement on Climate Change as a Development Agenda” (PACCDA). This course will help deepen your understanding of these critical connections and equip you with the tools needed to navigate the complexities of climate policy and sustainable development.

Climate resilience must be integrated into all development projects to drive forward positive social and environmental change and to enhance infrastructure for communities.
The World Bank, regional development banks and national development agencies have individually driven community-wide resilience projects but how can we effectively and collectively achieve long lasting benefits for communities and our climate?
Find out more in this article by Mott MacDonald’s, John Carstensen, international development climate change lead⏬
The article, "For the Poorest Countries, Climate Action is Development in Action" focuses on addressing SDG 1.5. The article explores strategies that the The World Bank and International Development Association (IDA) are doing to support developing countries in the face of climate change. These strategies include adaptation, resilience, and mitigation to address challenges of climate change not only today, but also in the future. Many of the projects focus on financing infrastructure to protect the environment and impact communities facing specific climate effects. This pairs climate and development together to find sustainable solutions as countries move forward and develop!
The first Malaysian’s National Policy on Climate Change was introduced in 2009 with the aim to mainstream climate change in Malaysia’s institutional and implementation capacity to ensure a climate-resilient development.
15 years later, the government launched the updated policy - National Climate Change Policy 2.0, reiterating its commitment to achieving its nationally determined contribution (NDC) while supporting the draft for upcoming Malaysia's Climate Change Act.
This policy, through its 5 strategic thrusts, 15 strategies and 92 key actions, serves as an umbrella policy and framework to support Malaysia’s transition to low-carbon economy and enhance our climate resilience in line with national development agenda and our climate commitments.

Today, I had the honor of participating in stakeholder consultations on development of the Draft Climate Change Management Bill in Mashonaland East. As a future policy maker, this experience was truly enlightening, allowing me to engage in meaningful discussions on shaping the bill's provisions. I'm optimistic about the future, knowing that collective efforts will lead to effective climate change management. The insights gained from this process will undoubtedly inform and shape my future contributions to policy development. #climatechange#policy-making #stakeholderengagement#futureleadership
408 climate experts have signed an open letter to UK political party leaders calling on them to commit to these 5 pledges:
1. Publish and implement a credible and legal strategy for ending the UK’s contribution to climate change by meeting the UK’s statutory Carbon Budgets and its target of net zero emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050.
2. Accelerate action across all sectors and all parts of the UK to adapt and become more
resilient to those impacts of climate change that cannot now be avoided, in line with UK Climate Change Risk Assessments.
3. Respect and act on all the advice of the expert independent Climate Change Committee, including its warning in its most recent Progress Report that “the UK will continue to need some oil and gas until it reaches Net Zero, but this does not in itself justify the development of new North Sea fields”.
4. Lead by example internationally on climate change, including through the implementation of the decision at COP28 in Dubai in December 2023, and the commitment to “transitioning away from fossil fuels in energy systems, in a just, orderly and equitable manner, accelerating action in this critical decade, so as to achieve net zero by 2050 in keeping with the science”.
5. Increase public and private funding and support for climate change mitigation and adaptation in developing countries. Without such a pledge, we do not believe that your Party deserves support in the forthcoming General Election.
The stakes couldn’t be higher for this next Government.
