There are special mechanisms within US State Department policies that give Israel an out even if its use of American weapons violates US or International Law. There are three main mechanisms that exist for Israel and no other country: 1) a formal meeting has to take place of a special committee for violations involving Israel; 2) Israel has 90 days to respond (which allows for long delays in wartime); and, 3) Israel's legal system is categorized as robust, so it is allowed to legally deal with violations involving the country.
