October is #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth. Orders of protection (OOP) are the most widely used civil legal remedy against domestic violence in South Carolina. An OOP is a powerful tool that provides immediate safety for survivors, empowering them to restrict their abuser's actions through the court system. This legal action not only deters further harm but also connects victims with vital resources, ensuring they receive the comprehensive support they need. According to a recent report, 81% of OOP cases filed in SC involved more than one type of abuse. If you or someone you know needs help with an OOP, call us at 1-888-346-5592 or apply online at https://buff.ly/3Kgdh3J. Read the report here: https://lnkd.in/enjWpgqf

Can you imagine leaving your abusive partner and still having the abuse continue, even through misuse of the legal or family court system? Unfortunately, too many survivors endure continuing abuse. You can find domesticshelter's article at: https://lnkd.in/gZxsisWx... Subscribing to their newsletter will give you more beneficial articles. If you experience post-separation abuse, I also recommend Kaytee Gillis, LCSW-BACS excellent book: "It's not High Conflict, It's Post-separation Abuse." #coerciverelationships #jennifercparker #kayteegillis #postseparationabuse #recovery #emotionalabusehealing
