𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 (𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁) 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲! It has been a week since we delivered this year's project. In 2024, the app's focus was a major problem we face in Portugal, every year: 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀. 🔥 📲 Blaze Control was designed to be an app that aims to prevent the Portuguese population from passing through areas that have an active fire, by warning the population close to the occurrence. 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝘇𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵: 👉🏻 A live chat, where every user can access and post a short note, ensuring everyone's safety. 👉🏻 Several trail options to guarantee that the user doesn't cross areas with active fires. 😲 It is crucial to note that the app was developed and conceived by two teenage girls, at the ages of 13 and 14! It is wonderful to have the opportunity to learn and engage with the future generation and understand how they see the world and where they want to lead it. Launched in 2016, her innovative creation leverages the power of Google Maps to aid in locating lost individuals. What sets her app apart is its added feature, enabling users to swiftly share their whereabouts in times of crisis by inputting their phone numbers. Since its debut, the app has garnered over 1,000 downloads, solidifying Ogunnubi's position as a young trailblazer in the tech realm. Ogunnubi was inspired to create My Locator because she cares deeply about keeping children safe. She explained, "I was very conscious about security, thinking... there are different dangerous people, so I guess the idea of being able to go out safely might have been what triggered the idea for the app." She added, "But it was me then as my 12-year-old self-thinking, 'Oh I’ve just learned how to create applications. How about I use what I have learned to create something that can be useful to me and other people?'" This shows how she used her coding skills to make something helpful for herself and others. I am excited to share that our team successfully secured #3rd place 😍😺 in the 24-hour Appathon 2024(28th-29th Sept) organized by SVECW, following an intense and enriching bootcamp from 24th-28th Sept.The challenge was hosted by K.Pavan Kumar Reddy, who gave us a solid foundation in Android Studio, enabling us to design and develop an innovative app called "Smart Ballot". Our app aims to solve a significant issue faced by many voter who live away from their native places due to work or other commitments, making it difficult for them to cast their votes in person, So, Our solution allows users to voteonline,ensuring accessbility and convenience for everyone. The event was hosted by Pavan kumar Reddy, who provided invaluable guidance on Android Studio, laying the foundation for us to build an innovative app named "SmartBallot",an online voting system aimed at solving the issue of voters being unable to cast their votes due to living away from their native places. Key Features: 👉Users can register securely with Aadhaar verification. 👉age verification prevents underage voting. 👉Fraud detection ensures a vote is cast only once per user. Here, To prevent fraud and ensure the authenticity of voters, we implemented an age verification constraint and designs the system to ensure that once a vote is case, the user cannot vote again. We are still working on adding more advanced features to enhance the apps functionally and securily. This success was a true team effort , and I am grateful form my amazing teamamtes Nyfa Asmin , polamuri Tanuja, Hasini Tatapudi, who dedicated themselves to making this project a reality.
