🌟 Winter Solstice: A Time to Reflect, Renew, and Thrive 🌟 Today, as we embrace the Winter Solstice—the longest night of the year—we are reminded of the beauty of transitions. The days slowly grow brighter from this point onward, offering a metaphor for growth, hope, and new beginnings. The solstice invites us to pause, reflect, and ask ourselves: ✨ What have I learned this year? ✨ What am I ready to let go of? ✨ How will I step into the light and thrive in the year ahead? And what will this chapter be called? The darkest moments can lead to the most profound growth in both nature and life. Just as the Earth begins its journey back toward the sun, we, too, can choose to move toward our goals, passions, and dreams. Let this solstice be a moment of stillness to honour how far you’ve come and a spark to ignite your path forward. 🌱 Where will your light shine brightest in the months to come? How will you thrive? #WinterSolstice #TimeToThrive #Reflection #Growth #NewBeginnings

The winter solstice is exactly the middle of the year. This year, it was on June 21 (southern hemisphere). I spent the weekend considering the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year, all the things I have achieved thus far, and the things I might need to abandon. While letting go may sound terrible, redirecting your energy correctly is actually better for development. It means you are agile and able to adapt based on the reality you’re facing. Do a pend some time this week reflecting on the course you set at the beginning of the year. Celebrate the wins you have achieved and recognise which things to abandon in the pursuit of your goals for the rest of the year. #WinterSolstice #MidYearReflection #GoalSetting #PersonalGrowth #Adaptability #CelebrateWins #RedirectEnergy #AgileMindset

New Beginnings: The Winter Solstice The Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year, is a powerful reminder of renewal. As the days begin to lengthen, we’re invited to reflect on the past and set intentions for the future. Take this opportunity to: 1. Reflect: Spend a quiet moment celebrate the past year. What have you learned, and what do you want to release? 2. Set Intentions: Think about one or two goals for the coming months. Focus on growth, joy, or connection. Extra Bonus: Celebrate and share your hopes with loved ones or create a small tradition to mark this new beginning. The Solstice reminds us that even in darkness, the light is returning. Use this time to step forward with purpose and hope. #WinterSolstice #RenewYourEnergy #LightAndVitality #SeasonOfRenewal #Alignment

“Scientists often emphasize our belatedness: a biologist might stretch her arms wide, explain that the tip of her left middle finger represents the beginnings of planet Earth, and then say that all of human history could fit into the tip of the opposite finger. ‘If we stick to our species, then we do rush on in a half-dressed flurry at the very end,’ Godfrey-Smith concedes. ‘But suppose we think of ‘us’ as life as a whole.’ Earth is four and a half billion years old, and life has existed here for 3.7 billion; meanwhile, the universe is about fourteen billion years old. This means that we’ve been around for ‘over a quarter of the total span,’ Godfrey-Smith writes. From this perspective, we’re not freshmen, but seniors.” “But Godfrey-Smith’s goal is to show how different forms of life have altered the Earth, changing it physically, creating the conditions for the creatures that follow, beginning with cyanobacteria adding oxygen to the atmosphere and ending with climate change. The idea is to give us a better sense of the space we occupy together, and of our linked and ongoing responsibility for it.” Imagine how different society, politics, and our economic systems would look if this was a key aspect of our dominant world views. #nature #climatechange #climateaction #biodiversity How Natural Are We? https://lnkd.in/g4DJT86F

Dear friends, following my sharing of that Long Read from the Guardian, upon the Ocean depths, and the toxic waste that humans have dumped in the oceans, far and wide, we shall tomorrow hold space for them, and send them our love and blessing. I can only believe we are reaching a tipping point – and by this I mean, a place where people all over the world will come together and end the way the earth, the animals and the plants have been treated. More and more of us know that what we have been doing must end. What has been done has been done, of course. Now it is time for another path, another way forward. As we better understand the links between business, growth, the economies of precarity and our environment, it is finally time to call out the real culprits. So please join us, if you have time, tomorrow at 17h GMT, 18h CET, to hold space for the Oceans. This work is necessary, and is long overdue. As always, we meet on Zoom. 🌍🧊✨ It's a wild idea, but what if it's just as brilliant... Have you ever heard of the 'Albedo' effect? That's the capacity of surfaces to reflect or absorb sunlight. Arctic white ice sheets REFLECT about 90% of the heat back into space, while the sea ABSORBS 90%. But Arctic ice is melting at an alarming rate. Fortunately, there are the 'crazy' ones with loads of ambition powered by idealism, like Tom Meijeraan and Fonger Ypma, the founders of Arctic Reflections, who traded their well-paid jobs to realise a moonshot. They aim to restore 100,000 km² of Arctic Sea ice. How? By pumping seawater on top of the ice in the winter, the ice can thicken more rapidly, creating a 'buffer' during the summer. They just returned with preliminary positive results from their first field experiment in Svalbard. Surely, they will face many challenges along the way, but efforts like these by people willing to take risks for the greater good are exactly what the world needs more of. #innovation #restore #arctic #ice #climatechange #GoodNews
