[🚪Where is the Door? 🤝Support at the right time in the right way 💡] During COVID, Imagined Futures identified a growing challenge: how do we ensure people connect to the support they need—at the right time, in the right way? Many don’t know where to begin, and some feel too embarrassed to ask for help. In these times, the concept of “no wrong door” is critical, but more people are struggling to even find that door. Our “Where is the Door?” project addresses this by equipping communities with the skills and tools to guide people toward support. I’m proud to chair this wonderful group of committed leaders and witness the power of collective community action. 🙏If you or your organization can help amplify this message, please share. You could change someone’s life.❤️ #AccessToService #CommunitySupportNetwork #NavigatingSupport #LocalResources #HelpWhenYouNeedIt #SupportInToughTimes #MentalHealthSupport #FamilySupport #FinancialWellbeing #EndingDomesticViolence #CommunityAction
Where is the door? - a new community resource 🏘 Imagined Futures Where is the door? project is helping both community members and services providers to navigate services in Cockburn, Fremantle and Melville. With rising living costs, many people are seeking support for the first time and don’t know where to start. Yet the earlier you seek help, the more options you have, and the easier it is to prevent problems from worsening. This project connects people to local free and low-cost services, including mental health, family and domestic violence, financial wellbeing, and more. The Heart of Residential Social Work: Meeting Clients Where They Are Working in a residential setting as a social worker is both challenging and deeply rewarding. It’s a space where individuals seek stability, healing, and support—often after facing immense hardship. Every day, we navigate the complexities of trauma, addiction, mental health, and systemic barriers, all while fostering an environment that promotes dignity, empowerment, and hope. Effective residential social work isn’t just about providing services; it’s about creating trust, building relationships, and meeting clients where they are—without judgment. It requires patience, adaptability, and a commitment to person-centered care. Small victories, like a resident opening up for the first time or taking steps toward independence, remind us why this work matters. For those in the field: What strategies have you found most effective in building rapport and fostering long-term change in residential settings? Let’s keep the conversation going. #SocialWork #ResidentialCare #TraumaInformedCare #Empowerment #HealingSpaces

🏡House Shares and Mental Health! 📍I met with Vicky Leung in Oxford who talked me through the ethos behind the Medshare house shares. 📣Vicky’s job is to “make sure our housemates are heard” and be “their voice”. At a time when providing good quality housing is at the top of the government’s agenda, it’s so important to highlight examples of positive renting dynamics. 🍻Beyond a focus on communication, comfort and design, Vicky’s passion clearly lies in fostering an authentic sense of community within and between the Medshare houses. For those who may have just moved to a new area, be too busy with work for social plans or just prefer living with others, finding the right shared house could be life-changing. 💡What does a good quality house share look like to you?

Here's a thought to ponder 🤔 - do we truly understand the struggles single parents face daily? It's more than just financial 🏦 struggles; there's the issue of affordable housing 🏠, balancing work and parenting duties ⚖️, and managing emotional and mental health 👥, to name a few. It's time for organizations and businesses to step up, gain insights 💡into these realities and extend their support. One such struggle is securing stable and affordable housing in the #LouisianaCommunity. At Community Builders Association

Social connections are more than just enjoyable—they’re essential for seniors’ well-being. Regular socialization can improve mental health, reduce feelings of loneliness, and even lower the risk of certain health conditions like heart disease and depression. Simple ways to encourage social engagement: - Plan family gatherings or group activities. - Encourage participation in community programs or senior clubs. - Schedule regular phone or video calls with loved ones. - Consider in-home care services where caregivers provide both practical help and companionship. Let’s ensure seniors enjoy an enriched, connected life.
