📢 Why Critical Thinking in Clinical Trials is Essential! 🧐 Did you know? A groundbreaking clinical trial published in BMJ (https://lnkd.in/eB25e-4N) concluded that “parachute use did not reduce death or major traumatic injury when jumping from aircraft”! 🤔 Sounds shocking, right? But here’s the catch — participants were jumping from stationary aircraft on the ground! This humorous yet eye-opening study highlights how clinical trial results can be misleading if you don’t critically evaluate the methods and context. That’s why learning how to analyze clinical research is essential! In PPCR, we go beyond the numbers and dive deep into understanding study designs, identifying biases, and interpreting results accurately. 🧠📊 Let’s ensure you’re equipped to spot the difference between clever methodology and real-world relevance. 💡 Join our 2025 class to become a skilled and critical researcher in clinical trials. 🔗 Registration: https://lnkd.in/e5Kji7Pg 📅 Main Deadline: December 31, 2024 #PPCR2025 #CriticalThinking #ClinicalTrials #ParachuteTrial #ResearchMatters #LifelongLearning

🤷♂️ What is patient and public Involvement (PPI) in clinical research? PPI in clinical research means people helping contribute to shaping goals, designing studies, and evaluating research projects by sharing their attitudes, perspectives, and opinions about clinical research. 💡 With PPI, patients and members of the public are actively involved in clinical research since they are affected by or fund the research. 🌟DCR finds great value in PPI in clinical research. A testament to the significance of PPI is exemplified by the words of Kurt Meyer, a valued DCR PPI contributor: 🎤 "First of all, it’s my experience as a patient which is about 45 years. Secondly, I am a simulation patient at the Institute for Medical Education. [...] I feel like that might help me to understand certain things better and to contribute." Through such contributions, individuals like Kurt Meyer enrich the research process with their unique insights, ultimately fostering more meaningful and impactful outcomes. 🚀 Check out this short video from two PPI contributors, explaining why and how they are involved in the DCR PPI Panel: https://lnkd.in/gfQT7B5Q #PPI #ClinicalResearch #DCR

"How much?!" This is not an atypical response to the first time someone learns how much a clinical study could cost them. In my latest blog post I look at what the money is spent on to help increase understanding. With understanding, study sponsors can be proactive in the study design phase to keep costs to a minimum. CROs come in all shapes and sizes and the variation in quotes for the same brief can be extreme, so choose carefully. Bells and whistles should be optional! If clinical research is new to you, take a look and ensure that you are working with the right experts to ensure your study and overall clinical research strategy is fit for purpose.

Coordinating multi-sites clinical research studies is a complex and challenging endeavour that requires meticulous planning, effective communication, and a willingness to adapt to ever changing circumstances. By implementing these key strategies and adapting well defined & standardized framework, clinical trial coordinators can run their projects smoothly and ensure the success of their trials. The B.O.L.D. framework for clinical research is just about that. Join the movement, become B.O.L.D. : https://lnkd.in/gZNv84hU

"On the road again, Goin' places that I've never been, Seein' things that I may never see again..." This time I am off to Anaheim for #ACRP2024. You know what I enjoy most about the ACRP - Association of Clinical Research Professionals annual conference? The opportunity to speak to folks in the trenches. The people who often are the ones using our platform daily. It is one of the best places for me and my team to learn more about what research organizations struggle with and gives me the chance to ask "How can we help?" #clinicaltrials #clinicalresearch #technology #eReg #eSource
Connect with the Clinical.ly team at #ACRP2024. This annual conference hosted by ACRP - Association of Clinical Research Professionals is one of the premier opportunities for education in the clinical research industry.
