Please take a few minutes to read this important piece of work from Basma Hajir and William McInerney, PhD
New piece out with William McInerney, PhD - From ‘Unchilding’ to ‘Childcide’ - via The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities. Combining research & poetry, we discuss the imperative of speaking out against Israel's systemic violence against children in Palestine. The writing is drawn from part of my recent keynote speech at the 'Letters for Palestinian Childhoods' exhibition at Oxford. It includes insights from Nadera Shalhoub-Kevorkian’s extensive important work in this area & a powerful poetic testimony from Dr Alaa AlQatrawi. We strongly recommend folks visit the exhibition (in-person and online) and read Dr AlQatrawi's poem about her children in this piece. Her words will always be with me, and she and her four children; Yamen, Kinan, Karmel, and Orchida, are constantly in my thoughts and prayers 💔 https://lnkd.in/gnzW3dXH

This is not complicated
Check this out. In May 2023, the 12th edition of the Palestine Festival of Literature took place across occupied Palestine, bringing together voices from across the globe to witness and reflect on the realities on the ground. Three influential authors—Ta-Nehisi Coates, Maaza Mengiste, and Eve Ewing—were there to see it for themselves, and their reflections resonate deeply with anyone who values justice and human dignity. Filmed in Palestine, these powerful interviews from May 2023 offer a firsthand glimpse into the lived experiences of Palestinians under occupation.

Tabby Refael: "It was at UCD Hillel where I first attended lectures by Middle East experts, including the incomparable Dr. Mitchell Bard. When Bard discussed his vital book, “Myths and Facts: A Guide to the Arab-Israeli Conflict,” I realized that in order to honor myself and my identity, I had to learn much more about the modern Middle East." Thanks for the kind words Tabby! https://ow.ly/H33250RzTS3
