🚀 Bringing Space Closer to Eindhoven! 🌍 The Aster in Space student team at Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e) has brought space closer to the city. Their Icarus satellite reached an impressive 34.8 km altitude using a weather balloon. “This test was a key step toward space,” says team lead Fares Abuelhassan, as the team tested crucial components like communication and power. Despite a minor issue with the solar panels, the test yielded valuable insights. Local company PhotonFirst joined the project, testing their photonics technology - an exciting collaboration highlighting Eindhoven's innovation potential for space applications. Brainport’s potential While TU/e doesn’t have an aerospace program, Brainport’s knowledge base and TU/e’s support bring students together with industry pioneers, share knowledge, expertise and learnings, and creating a vibrant community around space exploration in Eindhoven.
