New Power BI Feature: Data Limit Capability** 📊📉📈 My favourite for August 2024! This update is designed to help users manage performance by setting a maximum data load per visual, which displays only the necessary rows in ascending order by default. How to use this feature: 1. Go to the ‘Filters on this visual’ menu in the filter pane. 2. Click on the data limit menu to open a new filter card. 3. Set your desired data limit value. Report consumers can see any data limits applied to a visual in the filter visual header, even if the filter pane is hidden. Ring that 🔔 to stay up to date with all things #PowerBI.

READ CAREFULLY, till today you have seen videos & articles on Internet about How to optimize Power BI Report Performance wise: 🙌 First time you will read about How to check Power BI Report Performance ✌️🥉🏅 1) Check Performance Analyzer in built feature of Power BI ✅ 2) Check Report Embedded link opening time on Chrome, Edge & Mozilla loading speed time and use screen record to show to clients ✅ 3) Use tools like Page Speed Insights & J Meter ✅ 4) Run all heavy query at Azure Data Lake and at that point check in how much time our report takes to load ✅ 5) Check with 10-12 concurrent users at a time ✅ 6) Check at 9 am, 12 pm, 3 pm & 6 pm properly because sometimes at single time there can be many users ✅ 7) If Direct Query or Live Connection then Check How much time your PBIX file is taking to open in Power BI Desktop ✅ 8) Use Brunner BI tool ✅ 9) After scheduled refresh when new data is added also check in 5 min now how much time it is taking to load ✅ 10) Always check switching between bookmarks what time it is taking ✅ Make one documentation on it and keep it as proof, Hope this helps 🙏🙏 #dataanalytics #powerbi #pbideveloper #database

Initially based off Excel features like Power Query, Power Pivot and Power View, Microsoft added features over time, including enterprise-level data connectivity and security options. Power BI was released as a standalone product in July 2015. #powerbi #excel #data #dataviz #datascience Image: DataTale

Happy Friday! Trying to have this video out for a while, and finally, here it is. This video will take you through the whirlwind of data preparation and walk through the strength and flexibility of Power Query, an essential tool for your Power BI toolkit. Buckle up and prepare for an exciting ride! So, here's the deal: imagine a customer who wants to set some rules for their business, like what products to focus on in different countries. They want to keep these rules in a SharePoint list or Excel file. With Power Query, we can filter the data based on these rules. And the cool part? The rules can be about anything, like filtering for products only in Canada, or products that are bikes and are red in color. It might sound a bit strange, but it's an interesting challenge that I've been working on for a while, and I'm excited to share it with you. I hope you learn something new from it! Feel free to share your thoughts and feedback – I'd love to hear your thoughts. Power BI Connection Modes: Import vs. Direct Query vs. Live Connection Choosing the right connection mode is critical for performance and functionality: • Import Mode: Best for static datasets; offers fast performance with in-memory storage but requires scheduled refreshes. • Direct Query: Ideal for real-time reporting; queries data directly but may impact performance. • Live Connection: Perfect for centralized shared models; supports real-time updates but limits customization. Choosing the right mode depends on your project requirements: • Need speed? Import. • Need real-time updates? Direct Query. • Need centralized models? Live Connection. #PowerBI #DataAnalytics #ConnectionModes #DataModeling

Power BI service issue in dark theme filter pane what's happening is that the values in the filter pane are showing in black when using the a dark theme which makes the values not clear at all for users. I've faced this and noticed that some users in the community are experiencing this. I've posted it as an issue in the Power BI community so that Microsoft support would investigate it and report it to the product team for fixing. I'll add the link in the comment in case you wanted to follow-up with the thread. are you facing this issue from your side ? #powerbi #data

🛠️ Power BI Dataflows: Access Token Expired – Anyone Else? 🛠️ I recently encountered an unexpected issue with Power BI Dataflows - no changes made to the reports or semantic model or in the service, yet I kept getting this error: "Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.ErrorMessage" Detail: Access token has expired, resubmit with a new access. Has anyone else experienced this out of the blue? 🤔 After some digging, I managed to fix it, but I’m curious—has anyone else in the Power BI community experienced this issue with token expiration recently? 🤔 If you’ve run into this, drop a comment! 💬 I’m sharing my simple fix below in the comments section. Let’s connect and see if this is more widespread. #PowerBI #PowerBIService #Dataflows #AccessTokenError #PowerBIFix
