Browsers are becoming a prime target for attackers as they have become the gateway for all online activities, whether by developers or end users. In this video, Lionel Litty, chief security architect at #MenloSecurity, discusses some of the key trends in #browsersecurity. Litty says, “They [attackers] know that you’re spending all your time in the #browser. So if they want to compromise your device, this is what they will target.”

The rise of secure enterprise browsers 🌐 What are they? Study up secure enterprise browsers and their use cases in this #theCUBEresearch episode of #SecurityANGLE with Shelly DeMotte Kramer, our principal analyst, along with fellow analyst Jo Peterson. “It’s a cloud-based environment that protects web-based activity from phishing, ransomware, and data exfiltration. It's often used to isolate devices from the web, prevent leaks, and enforce data policy control, and provide web isolation and data transfer controls,” Peterson describes. She further explains, saying “enterprise browsers offer flexibility, and they give IT teams the ability to monitor network traffic, block malicious files. They give employees the ability to work from any device. Google Chrome, for example, is built on Chromium, and so are these browsers. It means that they're fully compliant with all websites and extensions and work on any corporate devices.” “The browser creates the demilitarized zone (DMZ) on a website by creating this secure web space that's isolated from a machine by embedding advanced security mechanisms in the browser itself,” Peterson concludes. 📺 Full analysis: https://lnkd.in/gt-JmAgm

Are your browser settings silently inviting attackers in? Browsers are designed for ease of use, but that often comes at the cost of security. Take cross-origin HTTP authentication, for example. If left enabled, this setting can allow malicious websites to request your credentials through fake prompts. It’s one of those invisible risks that most users—and even businesses—don’t think about until it’s too late. Turn off this setting, and you’re taking away one of the attackers' favorite tools. Want a faster way to secure your browser? Senteon makes it easy by automatically enforcing settings that protect you from unseen threats. Are you doing enough to secure your browsing experience?

Secure Web Gateways and #SASE / #SSE solutions were designed for a simpler era of browsers 10-15 year ago, relying on URL categorization and SSL interception to protect users. But today’s #browser complexity and advanced web apps demand a modern approach to truly secure your #enterprise. SquareX's Browser Detection and Response (#BDR) operates natively within the browser, providing real-time detection and response against client-side web attacks. I shudder when I see people save passwords in their browsers, while they have improved over the years, compromising browser security remains trivial for attackers to defeat. This is a key reason CyberArk built a secure browser purpose-built for security. Chrome's data can be stolen in a non-privileged user context. Oops - there go your cookies and passwords. Why is that a problem? Web session hijacking (by the way of cookie stealing) can help the attacker bypass authentication. Yes, MFA too. Think about your social media. Think about your LOB SaaS applications. Think about your infrastructure control planes. Flip the switch today: https://lnkd.in/grCf9GJY
