When our customer sought an enhancement for their aircraft's ECS system to optimize cockpit smoke clearance, they approached AMETEK Rotron for a specialized DC fan solution. The proposed product characteristics for airflow delivery vs size and weight expanded scope of the project to adapt the product for a secondary installation for cargo bay ventilation. AMETEK Rotron addressed limited power availability for the two applications with inrush current limiting function to ensure seamless integration. Learn how AMETEK Rotron's product response and tailored design ensured operational safety and compatibility, all without extensive aircraft modifications. Great news on the progress towards virtual testing for Advanced Emergency Braking Systems (AEBS)! Having experienced the integration of simulation firsthand, this shift from physical to virtual testing feels like a natural step forward. I’m confident that with AI advancements, the results will be even more promising. Hopefully, this approach will expand to other testing areas soon! #innovation #AI #automotive #simulation #homologation
[#expertise] Virtual testing now possible for Advanced Emergency Braking Systems! The regulation group of the United Nations dedicated to automated mobility vehicle has just agreed to allow virtual testing for Advanced Emergency Braking Systems (AEBS). The virtual testing is an alternative to physical testing, which keeps safety at its best whilst giving flexibility to the applicant in selection its methodology for approval. UTAC is proud of this step forward has we led this new regulation in the name of France. This new worlwide regulation will be signed in March 2025 and put into application in september 2025.

Can we expect to see a worldwide ban on pagers onboard commercial aircraft? Would an average screener detect as little as 25gms of PETN inside a small electronic device inside cabin baggage? Threat = intent + motivation + capability Risk = threat /vulnerability Some interesting questions to be asked #riskmanagement

💡 CLEARSY supplies DB Cargo Frankfurt with an ERTMS/ETCS operational simulator. 🚆 This has been extended with the possibility of connecting real equipment in place of simulated equipment. 📣 For the laboratory's ETCS-ATO demonstrator, the acceleration and braking levers on the train console and the driver's display (the ETCS DMI) can be used as input and output interfaces. 📓 The dozen or so scenarios (level 1, level 2, shunting, etc.) supplied by default with the simulator enable drivers to put the simulated train into action, while manipulating a real traction and braking lever. Eventually, other buttons on the train console and a real ATO will be interfaced with the simulation. #railindustry #railway #railways #trains #train #rail, #ETCS #ERTMS #CLEARSY

Final BEA- French Civil Aviation Safety Investigation Authority report has been published about a near CFIT (Controlled flight into Terrain) due to incorrect altimeter setting provided by ATC. Pilots should be properly trained to pay close attention to the altimeter setting. I have been teaching my students to always compare the airport reported altimeter with the ATC reported altimeter, as a difference of 10 hPa (1011 hPa instead of 1001 in this case) will cause 280 feet (85m) height difference, especially during IMC conditions where the ceiling and/or visibility maybe limited. That is exactly what caused this Airbus 320 to descent to 6 feet RA when the airplane was about 0.9 NM from the runway threshold during a satellite approach with barometric vertical guidance (RNP APCH down to LNAV/VNAV minima). Pilots executed a very low altitude go around even though the tower controller alerted the pilots earlier of a low height, a ground proximity warning (MSAW). The second approach was also carried out with the same incorrect QNH. This time, the crew acquired visual contact with the ground, at a height of more than 600 ft. The PF corrected the flight path and landed without further incident. Here is the link to this BEA-French Civil Aviation Safety Investigation Authority report: https://lnkd.in/gSFVUQyR Editing to add the BEA created video: https://lnkd.in/gEMSG47m
Doesn't get any more "near-CFIT" than this. Final report (163 pages) published today on the A320 at Paris that descended to 6 feet in IMC, a mile out from the runway. Cause: Incorrect QNH given by ATC (1011 vs 1001). Download from BEA here: https://lnkd.in/gQaqSYcN There's a very interesting video on the topic at the Irish Skies Pod on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/gpirJVh2 - giving the ATC perspective as well.

This one is interesting... One would want a solid PPI, a good chat with a good engineer to understand the cost of the phase inspections coming up next year, and perhaps some budget for an avionics upgrade (for this one I'm thinking dual Garmin 750's and a Garmin PDF and stby ADI), but the price is right and this could be a great deal for the right potential owner. The low utilisation program is great for those who want the convenience of the private jet, but are looking at keeping the ongoing costs down. Again, speak with your AME/A&P. One would also look to sourcing a couple of solid contract pilots. There are all sorts of potential pilots out there that can operate this aircraft type on a contract, or daily basis. This necessitates that part of the purchase, if one is inclined to take my advice, must include a robust search for the right crew; what is their experience, what is their availability like, what do other owners have to say about them, will their attitude towards customer safety and satisfaction meet your needs? Is there potential for a syndicate with the like minded? That's easier said than done, and somebody has to manage the aircraft (that is a huge consideration), but again, this type of part 91 deal has potential to meet the needs of those looking to step up their traveling game. And again, I have nothing to do with the seller or broker... it is simply an interesting prospect. #privatejet #citationjet #businesstravel #cessna https://lnkd.in/g_VK4knA
