Ateliér ARCHA’s Post

Here’s a throwback to the early days of Atelier ARCHA when we organized a workshop on decorative clay plasters in a cozy family café. The building was an old structure made of raw bricks, which had almost been entirely covered with cement plaster. Fortunately, we were able to restore its original charm by applying clay plaster to one of the walls, bringing back the pleasant and natural indoor climate. 🌿 The full benefits of raw clay bricks and its positive impact on the microclimate can only be realized when it’s exposed or plastered with clay. Here's why clay plasters and unfired bricks are game-changers for interior environments: Benefits of Clay Plasters and Raw Brick on Indoor Microclimate: - **Natural Humidity Regulation:** Clay plaster naturally absorbs and releases moisture, helping to maintain a balanced humidity level, which is crucial for comfort and health.    - **Thermal Comfort:** Unfired brick has excellent thermal mass properties, storing and slowly releasing heat, which stabilizes indoor temperatures and reduces energy consumption.    - **Air Quality Improvement:** Clay plaster is a natural material that does not emit harmful VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and even helps to filter indoor air, reducing allergens and pollutants.    - **Aesthetic and Acoustic Benefits:** The earthy texture of clay plaster provides a warm, inviting atmosphere and improves acoustics by reducing echo and noise. - **Sustainable and Eco-friendly:** Both clay plaster and unfired brick are sustainable building materials, with low environmental impact, promoting a healthier, greener living environment. #AtelierARCHA #ClayPlaster #SustainableBuilding #NaturalMaterials #IndoorClimate #EcoFriendlyLiving #UnfiredBrick #HealthyHome #GreenBuilding #InteriorDesign #NaturalLiving #ThermalComfort #WorkshopMemories
