On International Men's Day, I want to acknowledge the importance of mental and physical health, not just for men but for everyone. Men's mental health is a rising concern, and creating awareness around it is essential, not only to reduce stigma, but to foster an environment where well-being is prioritised. Over the past few years, I’ve personally made a conscious effort to focus on my own health and fitness, and this journey has had a remarkable impact, helping me approach challenges in life and work with a clearer mind and renewed energy. At PG Paper, we are committed to promoting a culture where mental health is openly discussed, and physical well-being is seen as the foundation of resilience. This is about encouraging everyone to care for themselves and support others. By breaking down stigmas and modelling good habits, we can inspire and create a ripple effect of positive change. 💙 #InternationalMensDay #MentalHealthMatters #WellBeing

🌟 It's Mental Health Awareness Week, and this year's focus is on MOVEMENT! 🚶♂️💫 Did you know that movement isn't just about physical health? It's a game-changer for mental well-being too! Yet, over a third of UK adults aren't meeting the recommended activity levels. Let's change that together! 💪 Here are some eye-opening facts: 🧠 Regular physical activity can slash your risk of depression by up to 30%. 🤸♀️ 82% believe activity is fab for mental health, but over a third aren't hitting activity targets. 😴 28% feel too tired to move, yet moving actually reduces stress and boosts focus! OA's Movement Tips: 1️- Any activity is better than none! Grab those 10-minute gaps between meetings for a quick walk. 2️- Have a meeting? Do a "walk and talk" away from your desk. 3️- Important call? Take it on the move! 4️- Park further away or get off the tube a stop earlier for extra steps. At OA Recruitment Solutions, we're serious about movement! 🏃♂️ Nearly half of us are tackling Mount Snowden in August! Plus, we love a good step challenge to keep things fun and competitive. 😄 Remember, taking breaks to move today will thank you tomorrow! Let's keep moving together for better mental and physical health! 🌈 #OA #OARecruitment #MoveForMentalHealth #OAChallengeAccepted

In her book "Real Self-Care," Dr Lakshmin says that self-care doesn’t consist of the “stuff” we do to de-stress; rather it is made up of the connection and clarity we have regarding our needs & limitations, and the hard work of setting boundaries to preserve and protect ourselves. I loved her understanding that there’s no magic formula to “self-care your way out of depression,” for example (as Maria Bamford puts it in her book, “there’s no medicine like medicine” 😜). Our needs are all different and there’s no one-size-fits-all activity that’s guaranteed to “fix us.” In fact, engaging in self-care activities is more a SIGN that our mental health is doing better, than a solution to when it’s flagging. In other words, you can tell I’m doing better whenever I pick up drawing! What's your barometer of wellness? This #MentalHealthMonth, we’re reminding our team to #TakeTheMoment and prioritize mental well-being. Recognizing that mental health is just as crucial as physical health, we’ve implemented resources like TalkSpace for confidential therapy and Recharge Days for self-care. Additionally, our Summer and Winter shutdown weeks provide quality time off for our Tarsans to collectively unwind. This, coupled with activities like our company fitness challenge, ensure a holistic approach to wellness. Our philosophy? When our team thrives, we all succeed together. It's mental health awareness week, and here is my response on the challenge of linking mental and physical health, the trick is to keep moving. Keep Moving We flow, within liquid lives though air, through water moving, constant, vital, hearts pumping, synapses jumping, then moments of stillness, in balance, don't take wellness for granted, don't chance your mental welfare, this Yin and Yang, we move to connect we stop to reflect from placid to frenetic potential to kinetic, the energy flows through you, so gym, swim, run and scream, stretch your compacted frame, make yoga your scheme, stand at your desk, make a break from the past small changes begat big impacts reset the pattern to last, those mental chains that held us are of our own design, ignore them at your peril, they are harmful not benign, watch a toddler, they know the way to keep moving. #Mentalhealthawareness #Mentalhealth
