I've come to understand that all the content that shows up on my newsfeed, tailored specifically to my interests, Alexa, automated email response are actually crafted by AI! It's fascinating how AI has been around for quite some time, even before it became so widespread. I'd love to hear from you all about your experiences with AI since we started this project. So. I caved. I had been sitting on a series that I knew what I wanted it to look like in motion but despite maxing out my credits in every way possible, it just wasn't clicking. So I decided to give Kling another shot. Their 1.5 model is worth the reputation they're building. At this point - all the software's are more or less equalizing with each other, with one doing one "niche" better than the others. Kling legit owns this for now. Talked to a number of execs at the intersection of AI and the media over the last week. One repeated theme: there’s a core tension between getting exactly the thing I think I want (hyperpersonalization) and knowing about the thing that everyone else knows about (what social scientists would call common knowledge). Kevin and Casey talked with Demis Hassabis, Google DeepMind CEO. For AI enthusiasts, this episode is a candy store: more about Google's AI tool development and releases, and an opportunity to hear directly from Demis on what Google's doing and AI in general. Toward the end of the interview Demis talks about the Scientific Method. He and his cofounder considered this when they sold DeepMind to Google 10 years ago. Research - Process - Objectivity - Experimentation - Facts - The Scientific Method. It's reassuring to hear it included in an AI discussion.
