Imagine flying halfway across the world, landing at 8am, and heading straight to your first client meeting—without even having time to change out of your travel clothes! 😅
That’s exactly how my week in South Africa kicked off. After a long journey from Northern Ireland via Cairo (5.5 hours) straight to Johannesburg (8.5 hours), I arrived and was immediately collected by our trusted partner, Stephan Hattingh. No time to spare—I quickly changed in the car and brushed my teeth in the car park before heading into our first meeting!
Here’s a quick recap of Day 1 in Johannesburg: 1️⃣ Meeting with Shaun Meerholz and team to discuss a major mining installation opportunity—an exciting project with massive potential. 2️⃣ A large multinational FM company, who (at the risk of sounding cocky!) loved the system and agreed to a pilot at a prominent site starting January. 3️⃣ Valuable insights from Raksha Maharaj at Invest NI, where we explored opportunities across multiple sectors and got some expert importing advice. 4️⃣ Final meeting with another multinational FM company, securing an intro to the MD of their cleaning wing for tomorrow.
A productive (and exhausting!) day, but the week’s just beginning. Next up: 3 more meetings in Johannesburg today before heading to Cape Town for another 5 meetings over two days, including discussions with two of South Africa’s largest companies, both interested in becoming distributors for Exact Comms.
Takeaway:
It’s been a whirlwind, but days like this make it all worthwhile. Stay tuned for more updates on what’s shaping up to be a busy and transformational week in South Africa! 🇿🇦
