Feb 27 2024 we are just 27days into February hardly 32* C and lakes are dried up what is the root cause? reason and challenges on hand ✋️?? This city ,garden city has given me bread ,butter,shelter, clothing, and everything beyond that by gods grace ,for over last 22yrs and never ever have I witnessed such atrocities of lake water depletion leading to tanker mafia .Time to give back to nature and this beautiful city. We are at the mercy of some section of the society who are out there to get to your bank vault ,hold you and mother nature ransom. Before we hit the drought alarm I'm writing ✍️ this heart felt post to seek the support of Lake Conservationists, Environmentalists and Green corridor support and RAIN water Harvesting experts which I have leads Indian Institute of Science (IISc) .I do have leads to my local MLA although I do not want to get involved politically. I'm doing my small bit to gather the support of all these experts to see of we can take up 1 Lake at a time to restore which can even take months or a year. Let it be a project but we don't have to suffer forever in the near future. Let me know action points and not just armchair activists .We need real volunteers, participation on dirtying hands feet, get soiled, clean up lakes ,work on a project management to Turnaround lakes to stabilise our water table beneath the soil. I met a man from my mountains (Koh Solaiman range) who rarely visits town and cities. He revealed something that nudged me, said that whenever he is confused about anything or need guidance, he goes to Trees and trees give him the Right thing to do... There are many millennials old Trees all across #Indus valley that are considered to be Holiest beings or Gods. For example in #Thal desert (which is part of greater #Thar but in Punjab between #indus and #chenab river) you find Hindus but no temples, because they go to those ancient holy trees to pray.
