🛡 Durability of construction materials to changing atmospheric factors is an obvious matter. Nowadays, buildings must also respond to many other problems. When preparing the facades of office buildings located in large cities and exposed to intensive traffic, it is worth choosing a products that will be characterized by increased resistance to high operating loads and mechanical damage. 🏢 In modern ATLAS decorative mosaic renders, we use a combination of acrylic dispersions, special additives and modifiers, which helps maintain the aesthetic appearance of the facade over a long period of time. ⏳ #buildingtogether #buildingmaterials #construction

3-to-1 Pavilion: A Serene Sanctuary for Tea Drinking in Shanghai • The 3-to-1 Pavilion, designed by TEMP, is a contemporary wooden pavilion located in a lush garden setting in Shanghai. It serves as a tranquil sanctuary for tea ceremonies, contemplative rituals, and social gatherings, embodying the interplay between time, space, and people. • The pavilion's sleek, triangular form, nestled amidst trees, rocks, and water, symbolizes the interconnection of time, space, and people. Its progressive structure, consisting of 30 incrementally changing rectangular frames, creates a sequenced spatial narrative that leads visitors on a journey from the casual to the contemplative. • Vertical louvered columns form the pavilion's distinctive silhouette, acting as a sophisticated filter for natural light. This design creates an ever-changing interplay of shadows that evolve throughout the day and seasons, enhancing the meditative atmosphere of the space. • Charred wood, employed using the yakisugi technique, not only adds aesthetic appeal but also preserves the wood by carbonizing its surface to be water-resistant. The dark, textured appearance of the charred wood cultivates a somber, introspective atmosphere, allowing the structure to integrate harmoniously with its natural context. The Experience: A space with a good Risk/Peril condition feels exhilarating, and with an implied threat, maybe even a little mischievous or perverse. One feels that it might be dangerous, but intriguing, worth exploring and possibly even irresistible. . Roots of the Pattern: Risk can be generated by a learned or biophobic response triggered by a near and present danger. This danger, however, is inert and unable to cause harm due to a trusted element of safety. The defining difference between Risk/Peril and fear is the level of perceived threat and perceived control (Rapee, 1997). . Biophilic design is an innovative approach to architecture and interior design that seeks to incorporate elements of nature into built environments. The term "biophilia" stems from the idea that humans have an innate connection to nature, and biophilic design aims to nurture and enhance this connection. At Vali, we utilize biophilic principles throughout a design to increase overall health and enjoyment. See Terrapin Green for more details.

Re-Diffuse Democracy: Retrofit old metal vents and grilles with composite air diffusers, Invi Air can upgrade a restoration of The White House. Restoration of national historic landmarks often poses a challenge when it comes to integrating air conditioning diffusers within an authentic architectural design that originated much before HVAC. Many historic landmarks still serve as active government institutions where a lack of AC is unthinkable, as in bustling congress and parliament buildings. From an architectural design perspective sticking unsightly metal vents and grilles on those beautiful walls and ceilings is equally unthinkable, nevertheless, up to now there was no alternative. Invi Air’s non-metal, composite-made, architectural diffusers are ideal for retrofit restoration projects, installed completely behind the wall or ceiling they integrate seamlessly leaving only a sleek slot, they can be custom-designed perfectly to blend in any surrounding, easily paintable to match any color and texture. Moreover, Invi Air non-metal diffusers reduce any chance of diffuser condensation by up to 95% compared to metal vents and grilles, they never rust, and reduce static and dust buildup, ensuring the surroundings are free from health hazards ( rust, dust, and mold). #Architecture #InteriorDesign

1747 SPATIAL OCCUPATION of ARCHITECTURAL FORMS -Gautam Shah https://lnkd.in/gMM9rKpv Architectural entities have close relationship, between volume and the surfaces (interior-exteriors). Larger surfaces emerge with the play of solids and voids, which also increases the perceptive mass of the building. There are many other factors that modulate the Spatial occupation of architectural forms, such as, visible undersides of projections, continuity of vertical and ground shadows, hollowed spaces, glassed spaces (both transparent and translucent surfaces), scale of details, surfaces rendering by suitable colour and texture, distance, visibility, etc.

Over on our Instagram, we’ve been sharing snapshots of our recently completed Davis build, AKA the Copper Pavilion. This was a beautiful, fulfilling yet challenging design project, as we had to deal with a range of unique variables. I’m intrigued by the behind-the-scenes design process myself, so I thought I’d share a few of our challenges with you, and our learnings from overcoming them. 1️⃣ The client wanted no balustrades throughout the house, which is a big ask when dealing with stairs, walkways, and a pool! To bring this vision to life, we had to think laterally about the design, and we ended up resorting to some creative solutions to itegrate them into the structure. 2️⃣ To achieve our desired patina and colour scheme, the copper we used had to be perfectly oxidised – which metalworkers will know doesn’t just happen overnight. This was such a critical part of the overall design, so we ended up working with a local supplier to accelerate the ageing process, packing 20+ years worth of moisture exposure into just months. 3️⃣ Our biggest takeaway: Ask the right questions, find the right people, and you can make magic happen. Throughout this process, we definitely encountered situations we never had before – but we managed to deliver exactly what the client wanted despite these unique requests. We wouldn't have been able to do it without relying on some great suppliers and utilising the expertise of the entire Blur team.
