#GetToKnowATLAS Validation at ATLAS is a critical step in the process of creating a new product. Its purpose is to check whether the product meets specific requirements for its application. ✅ 🔷 Before launching a new solution, we perform preliminary tests. Such activities show us how the product performs in diverse weather conditions and over time. ⌛ This allows us to fine-tune parameters and components to meet the highest standards. 🔷 Later, we conduct control tests, which are a reaction to how the product is received by users. 👷♂️ It happens that product parameters are negatively affected by incorrect use technique. By examining these insights, we can adjust and improve, always responding to the needs of contractors. 🔝 Importantly, professional construction workers participate in almost every stage of the validation process. 🤝 Their expertise helps us continually enhance our products to better serve our customers! #buildingtogether #buildingmaterials #construction

A very long time ago as a young engineer I kept a daily site diary. I thought I was ahead of the game with record keeping…. I recorded which subcontractors were on site that day, what interesting plant & equipment was in operation and what the weather was doing. Now, having seen lots of delay claims I would add to the list! ✅What the programme planned activities were for the week. ✅What activities we actually did and in what quantity. ✅Reasons we didn’t achieve planned progress. ✅How did I notify any delays. ✅ A referenced list of daily photographs for each activity. The mother of 'Meriam Paip' Gen Z city folks might not recognize the sound of kabait (phonetic spelling of calcium carbide) reacted with water & spark of fire in a tube of pipe. Popping around this time of the year. I think the sound of explosion from the test is about the same...How fun it was back then. Now suffice with that 'geli²' 🥱 & money-burner 😅 firecrackers. Anyway, back to engineering topic. Today I want to list out a WBS for Stanamic Test, as follow: 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 (𝗪𝗕𝗦) 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 ( 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲) ◼️ Project Initiation ◾️ Prepare necessary documentation ◾️ Obtain approvals for the test. ◼️ Preparation Phase ◾️ Mobilize equipment, personnel & material (20mm aggregate;not crusher run). ◾️ Review & finalize test plan. ◾️ Inspect &/ conduct any necessary repairs or mods to the bored pile head. ◾️ Verify integrity of the bored pile. ◾️ Conduct safety briefings for personnel involved in the test. ◼️ Statnamic Test Setup (The specialist scope of work) ◾️ Prepare the reaction system for the Statnamic test. ◾️ Install the Statnamic loading system in accordance with the test plan. ◾️Calibrate monitoring devices & instrumentation. ◼️ Test Execution (Both piler & specialist) ◾️ Perform test & measurements on the bored pile. ◾️ Monitor & record data during the test execution. ◾️ Implement safety protocols during the test. ◼️ Data Analysis & Interpretation (Mostly specialist) ◾️ Analyze collected data. ◾️ Interpret findings of from data. ◾️ Document test results. ◼️ Reporting & Documentation ◾️ Prepare, review & finalize the test report. ◾️ Distribute the report to relevant stakeholders as required. ◼️ Quality Control & Assurance ◾️ Ensure adherence to test protocols and procedures. ◼️ Demobilization & Site Cleanup ◾️ Dismantle & remove equipment from the test site. -------------------------------- In my previous post, I provided an umbrella WBS for a Piling Project (today's post is a further detail to it; under 𝘗𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘛𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 & 𝘓𝘰𝘢𝘥 𝘔𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 - 𝘋𝘺𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘓𝘰𝘢𝘥 𝘛𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 item) You might want to check it out here, https://lnkd.in/gmtakyrD You might also want to check out, WBS for installation of bored pile as recap for item Preparation Phase mentioned above. https://lnkd.in/gFQVbmQX Thank you for reading. Are we ready to meet one of the key recommendations of the Canadian Foundation Manual (2023) on geotechnical construction inspection and QA/QC? In my opinion (and probably most geotechnical engineers) this recommendation goes beyond pile installation and applies to any geotechnical construction work, from roads and embankments to tunnels and excavations. first, let’s define some key terms to see if we can properly comply with this recommendation: 1. Good communication: This should include clarity and efficiency, ensuring that each party receives the right information at the right time. 2. Verification of expected soil and groundwater conditions: This requires access to all construction data, including manually input data, instrumentation readings, site characterization data, and design recommendations. 3. Non-conformance communication: To identify non-conformances, inspectors or engineers must understand the design requirements, ground conditions, and be able to connect the dots quickly to make timely decisions. However, are our current tools—like email, SharePoint, or cloud storage—sufficient for this? At GeoXtra Solutions, we’ve developed specialized tools for geotechnical site characterization data collection and management, replacing outdated systems like gINT. Our platform integrates site data with instruments and manually input construction data, performing the first round of QA/QC to provide meaningful insights for all stakeholders. This helps reduce risks and delays by streamlining communication and QA/QC processes.Join the contractors and consultants already benefiting from GeoXtra Solutions and stay ahead of the game.
