Which is binding? 1) The Artificial Intelligence Act, not yet published; 2) the Council of Europe Framework Convention (CoE) on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law. So, let me understand: why should we only care about the AI ACT? https://lnkd.in/duh4VCQH Thanks to Bianca-Ioana M.

📢 Council of Europe to Consider AI Treaty - CAIDP, NGOs Urge Amendments ❗ The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will meet on 18 April to consider action on the first global treaty for AI. NGOs, including the Center for AI and Digital Policy, the European Center for Not-for-Profit Law Stichting, AlgorithmWatch CH, and others, have worked tirelessly to ensure the AI Treaty upholds the Council of Europe's mandate to protect democratic values, fundamental rights, and the rule of law. The groups object to: 1️⃣ Blanket exemptions for AI system concerning #nationalsecurity, an ambiguous and ill-defined phrase 2️⃣ Efforts to exclude AI systems in the private sector that are the most impactful 3️⃣ Imprecise language that diminishes the obligations established in the treaty 🔥 Key amendments proposed by Thórhildur Sunna ÆVARSDÓTTIR (Pirate Party Socialists, Democrats and Greens Group 🇮🇸 ) https://lnkd.in/ePDzAe5n TWITTER/X - @PACE_News Karine Caunes Merve Hickok Francesca Fanucci Jan Kleijssen #ALLAI #CAI #COE #humanrights #pace https://lnkd.in/gGUmqtnu
