In this paper, I explored the current infrastructure #financing models in Nigeria, and propose the #Critical-Mission #Infrastructure and #Sustainability (CMIS) #Framework as a #robust #solution - a model I developed for African countries. This framework challenges the existing infrastructure #deficit financing models with empirical and theoretical evidence. By using #historical-comparative analysis and data from Rwanda, Nigeria, Dubai, and China, the #model emphasises the crucial role of political leadership in infrastructure projects finance. Additionally, the paper advocates for modifications to existing affordable housing finance models by examining the causes, consequences, and impacts of inadequate housing in Nigeria. It also highlights the criticality of infrastructure as a catalyst for development and growth of any nation, shedding light on the impact of political leadership in selected countries. In addressing the housing challenges in Nigeria, the paper suggests constructive modifications to existing affordable housing finance models. It proposes a risk-adjusted mechanism that considers the specific housing needs of Nigeria, and demonstrates the positive impacts of incentivising community, private individuals, and high-net-worth individuals in affordable housing projects. Furthermore, the paper emphasises the importance of incorporating culture, education standards, income levels, society structure, risk-adjusted matrix, labour market, and beliefs as essential to successful infrastructure delivery. The CMIS framework addressed the multifaceted challenges in affordable housing. I suggests that the CMIS Framework should be applied beyond Nigeria, potentially offering significant positive impacts on housing in other developing countries.
