He believes that our minds are the limiting factor, and that by pushing ourselves to our limits, we can achieve greatness. Exciting news for me! I'm thrilled to join the exceptional and dynamic teams at the Mississippi SBDC Network and the University of Mississippi, where proactive leadership and innovative thinking drive real social and economic impact. In this role, I’ll not only put my recently acquired intellectual property law education (shout out to the Hybrid JD Program at the UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law) into action but also dive deep into the environments of international research collaborations and technology commercialization. I owe a big thanks to the introduction by Jenna Matheny and Katie Vogel, Ph.D JD MBA to AUTM an organization dedicated to technology transfer/commercialization in HEIs.   Though I won’t be in the classroom daily, I’m excited to stay closely connected to the global stage through export/import compliance (thanks to Anthony (Tony) Cambas, LCB, CCS, CGBP) and international opportunities that shape groundbreaking research. This new adventure is a perfect blend of my passion for internationalization and technology commercialization via small businesses.   Splitting my time between the Office of Technology Commercialization at the University of Mississippi and the Mississippi SBDC Network's RISE Center means I’ll be surrounded by some of the most brilliant minds in the field (Sharon Nichols, MBA, Allyson Best, Charles "Chip" Templeton, Derek Stephens, MBA) The opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to this innovative environment is motivating, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!   While my position focuses mainly on technology commercialization, I will still have time to apply my passion for NIL—linking the 99% of NIL-eligible student athletes with small businesses—domestically and internationally—providing student-athletes with life skills to succeed post-graduation. Always happy to share my NIL knowledge gained in the classroom via sports law professor Michael McCann and online NIL-educator gurus Bill Carter / Mark R. ✨ The Importance of Giving People a Chance 💼 Almost four years ago, Cavalry gave me a chance—a job opportunity, despite having no prior (paid) experience in healthcare and no background in account management (my first role at Cavalry). (Convinced I was the personality hire 💁🏼♀️ 💃🏼) 🙋🏼♀️Since then, I’ve been fortunate to explore several roles within the business, driven by both the needs of the company and my evolving career goals. In each role, I brought no prior experience—just a strong eagerness to learn and a determination to prove I could rise to the challenge. 💻 Today, I had the privilege of hosting an induction for a new member of our Stability and Transformation Service, who transitioned from another team within Cavalry. 🧠 Together, we explored how packages of care are procured, commissioned, delivered, and monitored. We discussed the challenges facing our sector and outlined our 2025 strategy, which included tangible outcomes to work toward as a team. We highlighted how every part of our organisation contributes to delivering person-centered support. 🗓️ Four years ago, I didn’t even know commissioners existed (🤣). Today, I’m supporting others in developing their understanding of the sector and helping them recognise the critical role we each play in achieving our shared mission: to change care for the better by empowering people to thrive independently. 💙 Give people a chance

As we wrap up another year of incredible growth and achievements at Kibsons International LLC, I want to take a moment to reflect on what truly drives us forward.   I have always believed that success is built on more than just numbers and must carry more meaning than commercial accomplishments. It is about staying true to our values and remaining purposeful in everything we do.   In a world often shaped by challenges and with the cruelties we are exposed to daily, including an ongoing genocide in Gaza, we are reminded of the importance of standing firm in our beliefs, even when the path is difficult. It’s easy to get lost in the noise, but true strength lies in upholding justice, empathy, and humanity—especially when it’s uncomfortable or inconvenient.   At #Kibsons, we strive to create not only a thriving business, but equally a company that contributes to a better world. We believe that success, in its truest form, isn’t measured by traditional growth only—it’s about purpose, humility, and staying grounded in what matters.   As we look to the year ahead, I remain hopeful that we will continue to grow, not just as a business, but as individuals who lead with integrity and heart.   Wishing everyone a peaceful end to the year and a meaningful start to the new one.
