Am privileged to work on numerous EV battery packs, some were of LFP, NMC, NCA chemistry, there is one important parameter I think should be enhanced. The medium of cooling the various battery cells of the battery packs. Mostly, the battery packs are made to be cooled by free flowing air, which high affects the health of them. others are cooled by various circuits of water based specialised coolants, which i believed is the best so far, examples are the BYD song plus series, BYD YUAN Pro series, BYD han, Volkswagen Id4, id6, Chevrolet Volt, etc. Battery cells are made with the chemistry of various substances/elements, Lithium ion, nickel,cobalt, Sodium etc, intermolecular reactions occur in these mixtures during charging and discharging of the cells, that is why it is very necessary for a great coling medium to be used. advantages of a good cooling medium * Longer health of the battery pack, SoH * Longer ranges during discharges/no fast draining * Less maintenance of the battery pack.
