Attachment Research Community’s Post

Attachment Research Community were delighted to support Achieving for Children Virtual School Better Futures Event at Ascot Racecourse today with Michael Guard. The aim was to support businesses to employ care leavers and reverse the shocking statistic that 36% of care leavers are not in employment, education or training. As Director of Children's Services Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Lin Ferguson said "Poorer outcomes for care leavers are not inevitable. We are aspirational for our young people. We want them to succeed not inspite of being in care, but because of it. We need to build a community to support our amazing, talented, resilient young people to thrive.' Great examples from Anna Butcher from John Lewis Partnership and support from Bethany Caunter from Care Leaver Covenant
