Over 200 Hampshire schools have registered with ARC since we launched the offer at the recent Virtual School conference with Fatima Whitbread and Nick Barwick. Delighted that 60 of them were able to join a webinar with ARC Director of Partnership Zoe Byrne this afternoon to learn more about the ARC members platform, ARC tools and resources and our Learning Programme. Fantastic to have such interest and commitment across Hampshire #relationalapproach #traumainformed #attachmentaware #Hampshire #education

The updated 11th edition of the MUTCD has been out for months now. Our favorite change? The inclusion of RRFBs - Chapter 4L is one good read. 😉 RRFBs have a yielding rate of up to 98% and are effective at: 🚶 Uncontrolled pedestrian, school, and trail crossings (with down arrow signs) 🚗 Slip lanes, roundabouts, and uncontrolled intersections ❌ Intersections with multiple crosswalks on the same uncontrolled approach 🐢They're especially effective for multilane pedestrian crossings with speed limits under 40 mph. Got 3 min? Read how installing the RRFB crosswalk gave students a safer route to school in Wichita Falls, TX https://lnkd.in/gAkyGu94

The tragic and unfortunate events this week in NC highlight the vital importance of life-saving tactical medical training for not only all law enforcement, but for all first responders, as well as every person as possible throughout communities. Around the 1800's military forces realized the importance of getting medical care to wounded troops as close to the front lines as possible. Then around 2007, the US military recognized the importance of Tactical Medical training for every service member and instituted the TCCC (Tactical Combat Casualty Care) program, which has saved countless American and allied troops since. Around 2013, after the tragic events of Sandy Hook and the Boston Bombing, the American College of Surgeons realized the importance of getting medical aid to the point of injury as quickly as possible (only took 200 years). This was not only with the RTF (Rescue Task Force) concept (Fire/EMS in body armor with LEO security), but medical training for Law Enforcement and the Stop The Bleed (STB) program for everyone, much like the military instituted almost a decade before. Yet over a decade later we are far from where we need to be... I can't count the amount of trainings I've been in where officers carrying tourniquets did not know how to use them or apply any other form of medical aid.. even on SWAT teams.. or the amount of Fire/EMS agencies that shy away from this type of training or flat out refuse to adopt these lifesaving principals. And I would be interested what percentage of the population has undergone STB training (anyone have these stats?). After TCCC was instituted in the military, troops say this training is as important as training with their weapons. I wish the same thought process was inherent in everyone as these lifesaving skills are useful in nearly any situation involving traumatic injury. Police officers should believe this is as important as training with their firearms. Firefighters should believe this is as important as training on hose and nozzle skills. EMS should understand their vital role in getting care to point of injury and train to do so. Everyone should be at least familiar with these basic skills to save lives.... May is Stop The Bleed month so I ask everyone to commit to learning these lifesaving skills! We have several TECC (civilian version of TCCC) courses currently scheduled. We can also bring STB or more advanced training, such as TECC, to you. And, we offer lifesaving gear and equipment too. Please inquire if you have any questions, would like to schedule training, or even if you don't know where to start. Contact me on here or visit our website: ARC-READY.COM Our hearts go out to all the officers, responders, troops, and their families who sacrifice so much to keep us safe and secure..... though a heart is no good without blood to pump, to save lives STOP THE BLEED®

NBCOT Exam study tip from #CertifiedOTR Adam – rest days are just as crucial as study days. Embrace your unique study style and remember, it's okay not to have it all figured out. "It's fine to take a rest day, it's fine not to know all of the material. No one studies the same so figure out what works for you." #OccupationalTherapy #NBCOTCertificationMatters

IPE simulation for a disaster day event is an important aspect of educational-growth and learning for any provider. Whether you’re an in-hospital provider or pre-hospital provider, the concept of disaster simulation is a dynamic process of quick reaction training, proper timing, collaboration, and interactive integration while using an evolution of thought process in acute skill management.
#FGCU hosted over 600 people for the first-ever "Disaster Day" Interprofessional Simulation. Alongside community partners, students learned how to respond to crisis scenarios all over campus. 🚨➡️ https://lnkd.in/e89Xnx-w
